Nope it’s certainly not, it’s a platform where real fans have a voice and remember those fans pay huge amounts to watch home/away and abroad. The real toxicity was from the likes of cretins like Simon jordan and Jim White this week which Robbie and DT handled brilliantly

I had to sit through 8 minutes of nonsense before AFTV was brought up.

As an Arsenal fan in Ireland, AFTV allows me to feel connected to the fan base that goes week in week out and feel closer to the club, due to the high ticket prices many fans who want to attend matches are priced out of it. Along with this, AFTV merely represent the fan base, if the club performed then you would see that in the fan cams, there's very little impact AFTV actually has in the running or success of the club.

It’s real fans who are there week in week out expressing their views as they should or have a right too. If it’s toxic to you don’t watch simple really. Even as a United fan I do not see how AFTV is toxic. AFTV just reflects the mood and performance of the club. If they do and play well, the mood is really positive and if they don't, the mood is really negative. I fail to see how that's toxic.

The channel is in no way toxic. It is a place that fans can go and vent their frustrations and their victories that they have never had before. It has developed into sonething that is much bigger than anything I believe Robbie had ever dreamed of. Football fans have found something they have been wanting for years but just never knew it. If this channel had started up in the late 1990s you would have seen a very dufferent atmosphere. It would have been one of jubilation and happiness as Arsenal were a team that was winning and putting an effort in consistently. But that atmosphere would have changec over the years to what it is now. Year after year the team has declined and the fans have had enough of the tottal miss management of everything. The orginization deserves everything has gotten from the fans, plater player recruitment has been a disaster with players being payed way more than what they deserve and our best players keep walking out the door for nothing. This year the fans that are attending games and paying the most money of any team in the League, for their money they have gotten a team that by the players own admission are not fit enough to compete in this league and you could see that in their performances. This just is not right and should never happen. Each one of the fans that attended a game this year should get a refund as they were not given what they payed for which is a team that can compete. Everygthing the fans have vomplained about for the mist part is true. When they have complained about certain players it's because that player deserved it. When they played better under Arteta the fans and the chanbel said so. The problem is tha alot of the print and TV media pundents have not got a clue what is going on. You can tell that alit of the time they really haven't watch a game and their comments made no sence at all. Take Ozil for instance. He played one mediocre game and one good game under Arteta and then played like crap fir yhe rest if the time a d these pundents sat there and sang his praises fir every game after the first 2 games to the point that everything should be built around him. The fact that he has 1 goal and one assist this season which us less than 2 of our center backs says all there is to be said. The fans are frustrated and the now they have a place to vent. Their tendency towards abusing their own team in the name of "keeping it real" has slowly but subconsciously spread through the Arsenal fanbase. I think a lot of people are missing the point as to why it could be toxic (could being the operative word here) . It isn't because of 'the fans' in some blanket catch-all statement, but perhaps because of the type of people they have on there, what they say (shout) and how that influences the wider fan base. If you have a stadium full of disgruntled fans fueled by an overarching negative media product, the conversation around the club becomes negative and the players play in that negative atmosphere. There has been visible effect on players from the fans, just look at Xhaka - its fair to say that it is a fact that fan morale/negativity/positive can have a major impact on a teams performance. Its how fortresses have been built, look at Anfield. Is it a fact that AFTV influences the wider fanbase? Possibly, arguably so even. There's correlation there, I don't think it can be easily dismissed that a predominantly negative and hugely successful media platform has a wider influence on its target audience. The next question is, is it ultimately the Clubs fault for their performances which causes the negativity from AFTV and a viscous circle has started? Or was the channel always a negative platform feeding on the popularity that negativity brings?

I'm United fan, but defending AFTV for sure. Look, toxic or not, everything start by the result. Any clubs have target to achieve each season, for Arsenal, Top 4 is a must. When they can maintain top 4, their fans won't making voice of disappointment, maybe a little bit nit pick on players, but all is good. But then, when they've got ousted from top 4 and even dropped some more points, especially against lower reputation club, any fans from any clubs will always start voicing resentful towards their clubs. Simon Jordan was Crystal Palace's owner from '00~'10, on which they don't have high season target like Arsenal. For them, stay on EPL or keep on the top 6 in Championship are okay, of course rarely their fans enrage over a few bad result. He doesn't understand things on the top 6 (EPL) level. 10~20 bad result, for Palace at those time are fine. But for top 4 clubs, 5 bad result will always triggering sacking the manager discussion and questioning the club owner decision.
