Have you guys ever considered that Tesla can do what Apple does, but Apple can’t do what Tesla does? Apple just announced they’re killing off their electric car project. This is getting interesting!

I’m only a part of the way through the podcast. For Apple, I don’t think they’ve gotten completely out the car game, I just think they are changing its focus for now to AI which down the road will contribute back to the car game. As mention here, they will either be a supplier in the market or buy a car company outright. Rivian would be good, but I also see Lucid Air as a possibility.

So now you have Max’s engineer a charge of max and Checo’s garage so for example today checo was beating max time at the practice 1 and 2 I believe right? So max engineer took that information from Checo and Max started doing way better. The problem right there is the engineers.

rivian needs to bet on their commercial side, cause as much as i like the r2 and r3, their timelines are too far in the future. In 2 years the ev landscape will look totally different. Would be great for them if delivery of the r2 can start in a year or so

Thats the point of changing production of them to the normal plant. the timeline is much shorter. we are actually planning production of the R2 to start later this year. We shutdown to add R2 production to the line in april...

Salo I can tell that around people you hold back a little because you don’t want to come off as too strong. Tell these two to duck off next time they try to minimize what you’re saying. You clearly are way more busy savy than these two. I know you’re having a good time. I don’t think you’re far from locking in again to multiply your millions again. Whatever you decide watching your journey over the past 10 years has been extra motivating!

The iPhone has never exceeded 25% of the world market share in the smartphone sector. In the US it's at 39% in 2023, down from 46% in 2020. In the computer sector, Microsoft is at 68% world wide. The Apple ecosystem is ideal for the less technologically knowledgeable user, but advanced users choose Android and Windows. It's nothing to do with cost. My last 5 Android phones were around the same price as the top iPhone on offer, but for computers it was different. My last 5 laptops were as powerful as the Macbook but half the price.

In the short term, Luxury EV market is where EV will grow along with low end cheap city EV cars in cities that support the infrastructure. Rivian is great, but right now., It’s a limited growth market. Again, in the short term. You’ve got Rivian, HUMMER, Karma, Rolls Royce SPECTRE, and Bentley going all EV in the future. Macan just made the new one EV. If Apple buys Rivian, it would be a long term play. Apple likes taking competition off the board. They bought Beats to eliminate competition for Air pods. But a car company? I don’t see it.

Huh. Ok. Tesla has sold 4.97 million cars and then there is energy storage and solar panels in their ecosystem. Apple has sold 2.3 billion iPhones (not including iPads, Apple Watch, Apple TV or notebooks. Teslas ecosystem is much smaller and would be difficult to take on Apples App Store.

The problem is that EV cars can’t make a profit. It’s a loosing business. Margins are extremely low What is the benefit of Apple to buy this?

The Samsung ecosystem is awesome! You've got phones, laptops, refrigerators, TVs, projectors, AC units, air purifiers, headphones-you name it! And the best part? You can control pretty much everything in your house or office straight from your phone or laptop. Apple? Well, let's just say they've got some catching up to do in this department.
