ive played so many games but nothing comes close to Ark its a game u can spend so many hours on and u dont feel like u use alot off hours on it i would say its worth it to atleast try it its a very different and fun game

hey dobby, you just need to get in tune with when certain servers wipe. There are a few servers that wipe every 4-6 weeks and have very healthy population for awhile then it steadily declines. Keep checking battlemetrics every day or 2 and one will eventually wipe that interests you.

The main populated unofficial servers are MTS/Salty ark/bloody ark ranging from 3x to 10x

Thanks dude, as "Hex" said, try to keep an eye on ones wiping soon, they'll be very popular for a while once they've freshly wiped. I personally enjoy BAMSark a lot when it wipes at the moment, the admin do a great job of keeping the lag down and banning cheaters!

A lot of these are partially pay2win nowadays as the guys who host these need to make money in order to keep the servers going. Id say BAMSark is nailing it best at the moment in terms of cracking down on cheaters and keeping their servers with as little lag as possible!

I heard the Official has a lot of problems. I never played on one, my friend and I made an unofficial server and we just played on that and it was amazing. Loved it tbh. It was just us two and we added some mods and I loved the game.

The new free Fjordur Map has the FjordHawk..it brings your kit back to your spawn point when you die :) (just make sure to level up its carry weight!)

Or they can just boost the settings and enjoy the game without wasting their life away. I feel like ark is literally just unplayable on default settings, no one wants to sit in one spot for 10 hours trying to tame a Dino thats just going to be killed in the next 10 minutes anyway.

I agree 100%. Adding shit like infinite weight and 10x XP and bs doesn't seem fun at all. Like the whole point of the game is to be challenging af and take some time. So that you actually have to try and be smart, yk? Making it SO easy like that defeats the purpose for me tbh, and it seems like it'll way more boring because you'll have everything in such a short amount of time.

i absolutely understand your point and agrees with it as long as you have IRL time. I always loved hard and time consuming games, then i got childrens...Since then, i was never able to really get into a game like that and to be able to fully exploit it. For me, setting x10 allowed me to discover the content of games that i would never have enjoyed otherwise. Enjoy the time you can spend on such challenges ^^ !

@@Adelph011 I downloaded this shit on a whim after watching the last Jurassic World. 'm playing with my 11yo girl. She loves this shit. I'm usually the one fighting, while she builds and breeds. It's nice.

Id argue that rust has more world content than some of the ark maps, but rust is also more of a multiplayer, make up your own journey kind of game. Ark definitely leans towards the single player, story driven, go here and do this content. The multiplayer pvp scene just isn't as big as the pve scene in ark, for good reason.

Also dark souls combat sounds better than whatever the combat system is now. Pvp is a mess. It needed to be reworked entirely, there was no saving it. It's just not enjoyable for the majority of players, which is why the majority of players are not playing.

@@cagxplays9602 They tried that combat and skill system with atlas btw, this is not new. Also rust has very little actual content, the content is simply quite refined and fun to do over and over.

@@hex2220 idk about you but atlas is not a good argument for anything. That game was absolutely horseshit and shouldn't even be referred to in the gaming community. Everything about it was bad, not just the combat. That's an example of how not to make a video game, so yes we shouldn't make ark 2 an atlas clone, good observation.

@@hex2220 i agree with you with rust. Its not really meant to have all these big cool things to do and a crazy storyline, it would take away from the core mechanics too much. Also I noticed you said rust is refined which a lot of ark players tend to ignore. Rust just plays so much better than ark, if ark were more refined, maybe some more of the base mechanics and content could be enjoyed more as is without all the extras.

Well at the moment its a 3rd person only game with dark souls type combat system. Not for me.

@@Kit-yv7ob Yeah. I have no idea how Ark will be if the combat system is only 3rd person and similar to Dark Souls. Like think about it, in the Souls game, the combat makes sense, but in a game like Ark? That doesn't seem like it'll work at all, or be fun. Like maybe they have something up their sleeves, but it honestly doesn't seem like it'll work well. Ark just isn't that type of game to have a combat style like a Souls games. At least in my opinion.

The game is good but it's been around too long so all base spots are on YT and some of the player base simply sucks. I played official pvp and was offline raided during mid day on tue/wed literally everytime my tribe rebuilt. They weren't looking to pvp, stood nothing to gain from it, had superior numbers and dinos, and I had to work. They had literally no reason to be raiding us other than being toxic and they chose too. Since then I've played single player, which is a funny title because you can invite your friends to join you, and had fun. The game isn't nearly as broken as it's player base imo.

@@ftbllguy2515 i think ik the rzn u think its not as broken as it rlly is and that rzn is cuz u play a single player server were u dont hv to experience half these bugs but even single player is rlly buggy u cant defend the game that u get stuck in a raptor if it attacks u. Literally the most common dino on most maps😂😂

@@Punks1010 When I started the first time was 2016, and then there were a ton of bugs. I played on official pvp for about a year recently before we got full wiped enough that my tribe decided as a whole to quit, so I definitely experienced my fair share of bugs/official pvp. By the time I was done with pvp I very rarely died to any wild dinos/bugs and kept what we called a pocket giga with at least 1300 melee on me at all times. I've been playing single player for only about a month because I knew fjordur was coming out. You can argue Survival of the fittest I guess is what I didn't like about the official pvp (which I figured was what you meant by competitive) you could argue, but we weren't challenging these 70+ person tribes that could take over a server. I don't get how they have fun doing it, but I also don't blame the game for it. They were the only thing that cost me hours of time though. I never lost much to a bug or glitch.

@@ftbllguy2515 man ur 1 of the only lucky players in this whole game to have never lost a kit to a bluescreen, antimesh, or being stuck in a wild or tamed dino but also ya i dont get the 70 person tribes im on smalls at the second and it helps a little but everyone else still has their share of allis which is annoying
