This is the brand new pocket hose called the Brass Bullet. You might have seen the commercial for the super strong garden hose featuring Richard Karn from the TV Show, 'Home Improvement.' It appears indestructible if you slam it with a hammer or run over it with a car, and most incredibly, it seems to stop two big pickup trucks in their tracks. So very durable hose, just not towing cable strong. Even on the off chance you needed to tow something but didn't have one around I don't think a hose would be the first option that would usually come to mind. That aside, I should replace my old hose, kind of shredded, and I think the spool has a bad connection to it.

Here's why it snapped: they did the test on pavement. In the commercial the trucks were on dirt, which allowed the tires to slip and the trucks not continue to move forward.

Once wheel spin starts, pulling force is greatly diminished. I could see how on dirt this test may be able to be pulled off... for the second they showed on camera at least. Also, the tire on the hose, I'm sure (since it was done on cobble stones) there was some cleaver routing of the hose through a low spot.

bottom line -- use FOUR (4) garden hoses to tow your vehicle. Pluse, the garden hose in the vehicle test ripped out at the connector brass threads as fastened to the spigot attachment at the vehicle, not at the juncture of two hoses in the middle. The hose is AWESOME!

Thank goodness they tested the truck scene on asphalt instead of gravel! They failed the test more than the hose! I reckon if you slowly did it on the gravel it might perform better, but probably still break

Star City haha mother in law got 2 one after the other. first it was leaking from the hose itself then she got a free replacement and the second one was leaking from the brass fitting, she got her money back in the end. bought it at home depot also.

The trucks were on a dirt road in the commercial making the tyres skid and the ground was textured for when the car was sitting on the pipe and the water was still running, not so legit after all

Erick Gonzalez Speed, and the material they're driving on don't matter. The rope should flex the same. The commercial rope stretches out to a fixed length of like 15 feet. The actual product keeps stretching until it breaks. I suspect a steel wire was connected to each truck and hidden inside of the hose.
