13:18 - 14:01 I totally agree with pewds here as someone who has been through sexual assault and abuse, I don't care if the person who did it to me becomes successful, nor do I care if other people decide to support them, I'm friends with some of his friends(and they know about what happened). It is their freedom of choice to support them, while that person may have treated me extremely poorly to the point that I don't think I could ever associate myself with them again, there are other people who like them, and there are probably people who have been supported through difficult times by them, I don't want to take away the support they get from them just because they treated me badly. while people don't realise it, people who have hurt people can also be the support system for others. does that mean what they did to me was okay? no it was bad, but that doesn't mean they should be stopped from doing anything at all. what I think should happen is that the person should be taught that what they did was bad and why it was bad and taught to not do it again and to do good things. Cancel culture stops people from doing anything at all, good or bad, which is why I don't support it. I don't want the person who hurt me to be harmed, I want them to become a better person.

I think a better example to discuss is the girl who got kicked out of college for saying the n word when she was 13 than R Kelly or Weinstein.

It's so easy to rally in the dark where people can't see your true face. When they meet with people face to face most naturally realize that they would never talk to someone in person the way that they would online. I tend to be the same no matter where you find me, but I know a lot of people that will say things like "You hate me/you just want me to die/ I hope you die/you're just brainwashed/unintelligent/uneducated etc etc." in their posts online because of what someone supports or believes, but when I see them in person they express nothing but compassion and consideration and pussyfoot around the issue. The problem is I know that on some level they mean what they say behind the safety of their screens. They can exact their bullying and hurt without having to accept responsibility for their actions. However, when they are presented with a real person in reality the weight of what they've been thinking settles in a bit and they can't follow through in the moment. They want the world to carry out their laundry list of devastation for them with no consequences. Cancel Culture makes all of their dreams come true. In other words. They're pussies that are all bark and no bite.

And Melanie was ruined over this and shes now just coming back. People dont change their minds. Thise people even after hearing shes innocent will never go back and not even accept that they were wrong and judged too quickly

I like how they say cancel culture was born to fix the flaws happening in the justice system, but cancel culture itself is infinitely more flawed than the justice system. Felix is right in saying they have a childlike way of thinking: for those who agree with cancel culture, every small mistake can be the end of a person; it's all or nothing, from one extreme to the other. Which is deeply unfair.
