On Disney+ they added The Church on Ruby Road to the season because before they had it as special 4 and now it's listed as episode one of the season. It threw me off when Disney+ said a three episode premiere and then it made sense. So if you hadn't watched it by doing this you are going to watch it.

I’ve got a theory about Susan Twist - she’s Susan Foreman. The reason why I think this is because of The Doctor’s line to Ruby about having a grandchild in ep 2 and namedropping two Time Lords in ep 1. She’s either a regenerated Susan, or a parallel version who’s grew old and has become bitter about the Doctor leaving her behind and wants revenge. My other theory is The Monk, a Time Lord who likes to meddle with time but not destroy everything unlike The Master. I can’t see her being The Rani, because she’s more of a scientist. But if she is her - one of the three mentioned Time Lords have allied themselves with The Toymaker, Sutekh, Ms Flood (whoever she turns out to be) or The Trickster from SJA.

I mostly havent enkoyed RTD2 but Devils Chord was pretty good Maestro held tge episodes together and made it for me ...1 outta 6 was a good Eurovision lead in ... Hopefully the next 6 will get better yhoigh because i csnt personally imsgine recommended this to new viewers wheras series 1,5,11 i definitrly would

Joe is on the money, the baby should have been eaten. Bodies should pile high in Who and it is as bad as the all time low Love and Monsters. I hope the six month jump is part of the clue to the Ruby mystery and not because this was considered the strongest story to pull in new viewers on Disney. Should have gone with The Rolling Stones.

So far this era has had recurring tone and pacing issues, setting up way too many plot threads and mystery boxes. The Devil's Chord was almost great but could've done with one more draft to tidy some logic holes. Outside of the interactions between the Doctor and Ruby, I think Space Babies and possibly Dot and Bubble showed Russell has overworked himself writing 10 of the 12 episodes of this season plus the specials.

I was really disappointed in the first two (I enjoyed church on ruby road). It doesn’t feel like doctor who. When RTD reintroduced Doctor Who with Christopher Eccleston it was updated yet clearly the same show and won a whole new audience. This… it doesn’t feel like the same show. The doctor has lost the bidding side of him that’s been in every incarnation. This feels like a completely reimagined doctor Who but not a continuation of the old show (despite several info dumps). It’s not a show for kids any more, it’s weird and trippy and I’m not sure what it is a whole it is for. I’m sad. This isn’t working. And the storytelling is off. Telling not showing. Is this Disney’s hand messing with stuff? Or had Russel changed that much?
