It must be wonderful eating fresh out of the garden again. I know it's Mother's Day weekend, but seeing Pop watering, makes me miss my daddy so much. He would have been down here at my house everyday to help in my garden. I started life out helping him in his garden. It's a bittersweet weekend thinking of my parents. I really miss them on special days. Happy Mother's Day Jill!!!❤❤❤

For onions, it helps if you can put a fan on them when drying. We've been so humid that it will take a long time to cure. Braided and hung my onions last year (still have to let the leaves dry first) and they did okay in dark 70 degree storage - lost a few since I don't have a basement or root cellar for cooler temp storage. This year I'm going to cut up and freeze dry as many as possible. God bless you and your family!

Oh, Ms. Jill, Your onions are beautiful. Such a Blessing to harvest. I try to follow your lead, so I will be checking the necks tomorrow and starting seed for the Fall. In the meantime, I have fallen in love with Egyptian Walking Onions and have planted many varieties of bunching onions just in case. It is always better to have a variety of onions to see us through whatever may come because life without onions is not what I want. God Bless You and Yours.

I miss onions. I can almost taste them, still. There is something in them, not sure what, that I can't digest. They turn me into the good year blimp and it takes a couple of days to un-bloat. Very painful. It's been probably 20 years, since I have really eaten them. I have "try this"- and this, and that...NOPE! None of them work. It's anything in the onion family. Now, thankfully, I can still USE garlic, if I leave it whole, and only add it to my oil just long enough to season the oil, but then it has to come out. Otherwise, ummm, you expecting? 😆One day, I will find 'the substitute" 😁

I always learn so much from your videos! I sure would appreciate any tips on how to get my onions bigger, they are all about the size of ping pong balls or smaller, I live west of fort worth zone 8a. Please let us know when you start those onion seeds for the fall, I'd like to try again too!

Probably got another month before my onions finish up. I've got gallon bags full of green onions. I was going to dehydrate half of them, any idea what to do with a few pounds of green onions?
