Good information on effects too much rain on tomatoes 🍅. We had a rainy season one year and the tomatoes stalled just as you said. I agree, dumping water on a stressed plant isn't good either. Thanks for sharing!

Hey Jill WOW we had tons of rain yesterday for a good hour. 4" in one hour. We went out this morning and removed our tomato bottom leaves touching the ground up to 4". We are spraying this evening with insecticidal soap and will rinse in the morning. We use Meyers soap. Please pray for Lippy & Buddy. Buddy had heart surgery. Tell Greg and Pops we said hi and God bless yawl.

I don't normally pay much attention to the rain, especially since we've been getting so much, but yesterday it was so dark all day, I definitely noticed. It was such a strange day all around in my hood. I'm glad to hear about sunshine, but lord, not the heat!!! Have a great weekend Jill. I see you're gonna be supper busy with the farm. It's a good kind of busy though. ❤❤❤

The rain in Bama has been more too this year. Today and tomorrow 90%. Luckily, it’s a slow steady. I just remember last year, being in shock a the size of cracks, in your soil. It’s setting up to be a bad hurricane season this year, they say, so maybe rain, won’t be an issue, come late summer.

Thanks Jill, Good information! I just checked & our tomatoes are starting to fruit. Yikes! blossom end rot has begun. So far, NO spider mites. Should i let them dry out before adding a drench of cal mag sollution or do it now? They also look like they may need feeding but are growing well. I garden in cattle mineral tubs because we have inferior sand here. I have high hopes for a small greenhouse someday. Im still learning to grow things. All i can tell others is dont give up because youve failed. This is my 3rd year trying to grow zucchinni. This year i covered them with net bags to keep the bugs away, and removed them when they started to flower. Success! It made me want to dance.🤸

I did 36 jars of Blackberry jelly and jalapeno jelly on Monday. I got 2 containers of blackberries so had to do something right away. I'm glad to have some Christmas gifts already!!
