'Is it necessary to marry in life? What is the physical relationship between man and woman?'
This channel is managed by the Krishnamurti Foundation Trust, UK, and by the Krishnamurti Foundation of America.
The role of the foundations was described by Krishnamurti when he said, 'The foundations will see to it that these teachings are kept whole, are not distorted, are not made corrupt. They will not give rise to any sectarian spirit in their activities... nor create any kind of place of worship around the teachings or the person.'
We maintain extensive archives of Krishnamurti's original works and all four Krishnamurti foundations are actively engaged in the publication of material in various forms.
Our videos contain thousands of subtitles in more than 25 languages, translated by volunteers from all over the world. If you would like to help us with translating subtitles, please contact us at digital@kfoundation.org

I'm 53,never married,no kids. I feel fortunate that I recognize that I am a genuinely happy person, despite that fact. A person may be able to make you happy existentially. But in your heart, you are either happy by nature,or you are not. If you are not a happy person by nature, the person you marry will not be able to make you happy.

It has been 48 years of me on this planet and i never felt like missing out on anything. There has been struggle and hardships but i was always there with myself. I hope young generation would also learn to have good relationships with themselves and treat themselves in a better way so that they can also treat others better. I believe it is completely upto the choice of an individual and nobody should be accountable for this decision, except for the individuals themselves.

I tell younger people all the time to stop pining for a partner and spend years living alone first. No roommates either. True independence and solitude. Once you're genuinely very happy that way, then a partner to share in the journey is a positive thing. When you don't need it but it comes along, it's a gift.

Wow!! I have read his book "Freedom from the known". I have never seen such an intelligent man. It struck a chord with me when he said "You exploit her, she exploits you". Though subtle, this is true indeed. Why people marry? They want something from each other. Men primarily want sex and women want financial security(In most cases). There is this another need of psychological security as well. Fundamentally, all this is hollow. Because there is no security. Thank you for this video.

The reason to REMAIN SINGLE is not because we are unable to handle our partner and related problems. But, we don't want to spend our precious time of life in handling such problems. Rather, we wish to invest time in making a positive change in ourselves and thereby in the society for peace, for humanity and joy. 🙏 So, it's your choice to be single or not. But if you are not able to find solutions for existing problems, don't create more complexities in life..😄 Let it be simple. 👍

It's pretty simple. Be happy enough on your own that a partner is a best friend with whom you enjoying sharing things. Met my husband at 39, when I was quite content on my own and never felt anything was missing. Because of that, we never feel needy or clingy towards each other. We get to be ourselves and share the journey with someone we genuinely like as well as love, lol. I honestly think that's the secret. Be so fulfilled and happy on your own you don't even need or want marriage. That seems to be precisely when a great spirit feels your vibe and comes right at ya to be with a kindred soul. We are still as happy together today as we were 13 years ago. And I never, ever thought I'd be the marriage type. ;)

The idea of marriage in the world long ago was to share responsiblities in life. The women looked after the home and children while the husband earned. There was an understanding. With industrialization the meaning of marriage has changed.

True conjugal relationship is rare, final home is seen in someone by another one when both of them have not dwelled in other temporary things and therefore have developed infinite affinity for each other. Marriage is an outdated concept in the West, it goes back to a time when a woman wasn't able to fend for herself. It made sense back then. Today it is merely tradition or some fantastic idea, trying to fixate something (erotic love) which by nature is elusive and impermanent.

Marriage isn't about sex or anything erotic, lol. I know a lot of long happily married couples, none of them cite sex as the best part or secret to the longevity. Marriage is about 2 people who are best friends, sharing their lives. Sex is fleeting. Genuine connection and having someone there to laugh with you and support you, while you support them, is what marriage is about. And it's glorious.

marriage is one of those institutions of human life meant to unite, build and create stable societies rooting from a marriage unit set up as part of those binding forces of a progressive society, marriage in the traditional sense of the word is more good than bad, it is good but not the best, has room for development, that is why we see marriage laws changing and so on and so forth because it involves a lot, involves children and families and money and norms etc Sometimes these changing laws stengthen but sometimes they weaken this institution... But overall, the intentions are usually good

JKs method to get across the truth is exemplary. He draws into the presence by repeating the question, then what comes out from him is out of the box. Yes, marriage is the microcosm of society, and it is like a season in existence. His word "complexity" serves in different ways. physical relationship in the youth and companionship in the later stages. "Love" is an important factor which everyone agrees, it's how you treat your partner as an extension of yourself rather than the other. The needs then get dissolved into one. So , its a matter of choice to get into the system that facilitates social construct or stay away. No story is the same for everyone, depends on the divine providence, and the urge that responds to it.

Well having read few comments and of those who questions his teaching! To those I say you still are entangeled in wordly doctrines. All you want is exact Yes or No answer and all the while his very fundamental teaching is experience yourself, know thyself, liberate yourself. Well I can best tell you is by example of teachers. You are seeking for Pre-school teacher who can answer your childish question and whatever be the answer right or wrong you accept it happily because you get what you have asked for and to you your teacher is a hero but Krishnamurti is a Professor and if you are to get his concept you have to be Phd. student. He gives and shows directions and research is your own. So find it out. Alan Watts, Bruce Lee to name few admires him caz they know the depth of his teachings.

i think marriage by its own, involves a high level of karma blending, in addition to the long list of likes and dislikes.. if one gets married to someone and together they keep evolving and continue the journey of life on this planet, that would be awesome, keeping in mind that they are both free of insecurities - which virtually means they have worked so far well on their inner worlds and penchants the whole issue by itself is individualistic
