Yes, this is fully consistent with Catholic and Orthodox theology. In fact, traditional Catholic theology is even better because there are some things about Tolle's explanation where he seems to use his intellect to fill in parts that aren't in his experience. There are many Catholic saints who were more fully spirituality realized than Eckhart Tolle-that is their understanding is much fuller, richer and deeper, as Eckhart Tolle's understanding still seems to be fairly superficial. Still, there is a lot most Catholics can learn from Tolle about how to pray the Mass by opening one’s self up, becoming more fully present.

You THINK you are Catholic, that is not the same thing with ”i am catholic”, you can not be catholic, or anything else. All these are LABELS. You are just fooling yourself, playing a temporary role. 🙂

@@AstropoliX Start by not make a persona out of god. There isn’t any figure, in whatever form, that is God. If you like don’t even call it God. Consciousness is enough for a label, but even this word is just a label. God is not a being like humans, there is not a he or she. What many call “god” is formless, nameless, eternal always present consciousness. See Buddhism, Tao, Hinduism etc for better explanations. Don’t cling to the teachings, they are just pointers, look inward all the answers are in you. You actually IS the consciousness, or soul if you like and you have this body and mind. What I mean by inward has nothing to do with thinking and philosophical searching for answers. Meditation helps and no you don’t have to sit for hours, doing nothing. Although just 15-30 minutes a day help. First step is to focus on the now and not in your mind. This will help you to cut the identification with your mind. You are not the story of the mind, you are the consciousness and you can observe it, while still using it as always. Even better as you go deeper into being. You are the operator of the mind, and your mind it’s just a tool it is not your true essence. Your whatever identity, name, face, history, memories, opinions, beliefs etc are just the surface of your being.

They are born into a historical-social setting, have a spring, summer, fall and winter before being renewed in a new form. Religion is also part of the human response to Divine Revelation (where that Revelation is divided between temporal social teachings and eternal spiritual teachings-it is in this second function, the spiritual teachings, that we can say all religions are one).

No, it's not possible to know the mind of God or even know God. God is unknowable, in Essence. What we can know about "God" are his attributes or energies as they're manifested in the world. This is a big difference. Eckhart might say something like "God is experienceable but unknowable". Which is what I would assert that he did say here, but then people like you get confused by this and say erroneous things like this means it is possible "to understand the mind of god [sic]". But very likely this false conceptualization will become a veil between you and the direct experiences of God, which then just makes it another support of the egoistic mind.
