You got one guy who only heardthree songs. You got one guy who still think he's married to a Rothschild, when he only dated for about a year and broke up with her back in 2013. And one guy that thinks he can spit just as good as your Electronica LOL. And the other two had a little to offer if nothing. You guys are speaking on someone you have little knowledge on, really none at all. You might as well have been commenting on what the new Green Day album is going to sound like. You know just about as much about them than you do Jay Electronica LOL

The principle is "quality over quanitity" That's actually what "lyrical ability" is.

I love Jay Electronica but flashes of greatness doesn’t compare to someone who has been great for damn near 30 years. Thought gets better with age and has consistently dropped feature verses that can be argued for verse(s) of the year.

If you only heard 3 Jay Electronica songs you shouldn't even be having this conversation.Your coming into this convo blind.

Debatable. More important is the fact that there is not enough material at a consistent pace to from Jay Electronica to compare him to Black Thought. Thanks for checking out the vid. Leave a like or dislike and if you enjoy this content consider subscribing.

@@FacultyLounge Definately agree in terms of material but I do believe his caliber of writing is knack and knack with him and from a performance level there is footage of him toe to toe with Thought rocking the stage and killing it. In my opinion currently over 40 lyrically speaking it's in this order so far of who's the best and holding down their positions Jayz Black Thought 3 stacks Nas Jay Electronica But with this album Jay Elect could jump past Nas and be right next to 3 stacks if he delivers on an artistic level while lyrically cementing himself next to Thought and right under Jayz.

So a near perfect one off from Jay Electronica could catipult him into the upper echelons of over 40 lyricists? Well, while I don't necessarily agree with that, if he pulls it off it will be the greatest show of talent since "The Miseducation of Lauren Hill" and if that happens, I will gladly tip my hat.

@@FacultyLounge I'm glad you brought up the miseducation of Lauryn Hill.I definitely think he could make a project of that magnitude of executed right. I believe elite Lyricists in the industry like the Jays, Thiughts,Nas's, 3 Stacks etc already believe and know he's of that caliber,it's just a matter of him showing the people that he's of that caliber.I don't think anyone in the industry who has heard his unreleased stuff are doubting his capabilities.I just think they are waiting for him to officially drop like the casual listener is so they can rank him and give him his just due properly. Also with jays assistance I don't see him not having anything less than an amazing display because Jay definitely isn't going to be behind anything at this point that isn't top notch musically especially being on supposedly 7 songs.

It's a great piece of art. Meaning it's subjective in the best way. I don't think it's the album we all were waiting for, but as far as hip hop goes, it's well welcomed. Can't wait for a true solo effort from Jay Elect.

Considering The Roots catalog I'm ashamed that y'all would even consider this conversation. illadelph halflife shits on anything Jay Electronica can produce, furthermore dude hasn't even produced an album. We're comparing a few songs from Jay Electronica like Exibit C to several Roots albums spanning back to '93 The Roots "Organix" album.

Did u watch the whole vid? The room was def. NOT sayin Jay Electronica can compare to Black Thought. You actually brought up some of the same points we did. Thanks for checkin us out though. If you like our content, hit the like or dislike button and maybe subscribe.

I think the point is that it would be unfair to place Jay Electronica above Black thought due to the fact that he has not consistently put out music or ever delivered a full body of work. Jay Electronica shows much promise, but we need that work on a consistent basis to make a proper comparison. Thanks for checkin out the vid.
