Having a life insurance po talaga ay showing your care and love sa family mo. Hindi ito expense o gastos lang. I have life insurance and I feel like I am a walking 5 million kasi I know if worst thing will happen to me hindi ako mag cause ng burdens. My family will love me even more. Life insurance is a tool for the insurance companies to get your money, that's why there are insurance underwriters. They make sure that the insurance product will go the way for the benefit of insurance companies, if an insurance product benefits victims more, they suddenly pull-out and stop selling the insurance product.

@@andrewchua7286 clearly you doesnt know how insurance business work. Insurance companies does make profit from the premium else how would they survive? in return, they do pay compensation when unfortunate events happen to policyholder, even after adequate underwriting process. there is a reason for every rich people and country to have insurance coverage. to tell one's financial literacy is to see whether he or she understand the purpose of insurance.

Life insurance is not an investment, it is indeed a protection.

Thanks for your comment, Benito. Protection instruments are defined as investments as well. This is why a “hedge” or even commodity contract insurances are investments too. We even have hedge funds. Technically, an investment is a commitment of funds made in expectation of a positive rate of return. So even pure insurance is considered an investment. VULs, however, are another type where 2 types of investments are mixed. Protection plus funds made up of other instruments. Hope this clarifies.

Last year of june, nag avail po ako ng combination ng investment and life insurance. Ito ay bago pa pumutok ang 1st case ng covid. Ofw po ako, and im a frontliner, less worry kc pag tumanda ako or if ever matigok, im confident kc whatever happens to me hindi ako magiging pabigat sa mahal ko sa buhay. LOVE+INSURANCE=CONFIDENT

Napakasakit po talaga pag walang insurance. Grabe po pinagdaanan ko para makabangon ang pamilya ko bago ako nag asawa. Minana kolng naman ang almost 1m na utang ng father ko sa bangko. Un bahay namin na ginawang collateral muntik ng kunin ng bangko. Aside from that lubog pa sa utang, A mistake of my father is a lesson for me. I will never let it happen again esp to my children.

Yun nga lang sir sa claiming ka magkakaproblema. Hihintay ka ng 3 days to 1 week bago makuha yung cheke at maipagamot ka. May documentations pa na aasikasuhin. Doon nagiging scam ang insurance. Paano kung hindi umabot ang insurance para mabayaran agad ang operasyon? Yun ang hindi sinasabi ng mga nagbebenta ng insurance. Maigi pa ipunin mo na lang sa bangko ang pera mo. At least kung need mo na talaga ng pera for health emergency wiwithdrawhin mo na lang.

Kaya po dpat meron kayong emergency fund na masa bank bago kayo mag invest sa life insurance + health, VUL, stocks, index funds at iba pa para in case na kailangan mu ito ASAP may mahuhugot kang atleast pang downpayment then pag na release na ang health insurance mu pwde muna ult ma replenish yung nawala mung emergency fund, just my 2cent po. For me ang purpose tlga kung bkt tayo kumukuha ng insurance is not for ourselves but for our dependents in case tayo ay mawala na.

@@angeliebulaon1059 pwde po iyon basta nung nag sign ng comtract si policy owner/insured nasa Philippines sya. Ang hindi pwde yung nasa ibang bansa sya nag sign ng contract tapos nasa Pinas ang insurance company.

Depends on your purpose if you want to leave a legacy to your family and guaranteed go to life insurance but if you are looking only for yourself and non guaranteed investment play stock or mutual funds .

Thank you. I already have insurance which I started paying 3 years ago. I also encouraged my wife and we got another one earlier this year. I know how important insurance is but the way you explained it gave it more meaning. I talked to multiple insurance agents in the past when I was browsing for the correct insurance for me but I never heard them explain it the way you did. The staircase analogy and giving the family left behind time to adjust is big.

Just a suggestion, you might want to read up on financial management and search for the topic of financial ratios. It can tell you on how company manages its resources and liabilities. To know if a company is good to buy for the long term, you should check up on the topic of valuation w/c is determining the value of a financial asset (i.e. stocks and bonds).
