Is my Photography Fine Art and Should I Become a Gallery Artist?

Wandering around on a local trail today I find a couple of really nice compositions and ponder the ins and outs of Fine Art Landscape Photography and consider whether I should be showing in galleries. I'll be looking for the first signs of fall and hopefully I catch some along the way!

Thank you! I really love the play of shadow and light in any image. I try to make it my main goal other than there being some sort of visual story occurring.

Great video, Tom. Fine art is tricky, and it's easy to forget that there is an industry behind it that often dictates what's put forward. Reminds me of the old adage if a tree falls in the woods and no one is there to hear it. Does it make a sound? Well, in this case, we ask ourselves what might people 'hear' when viewing an image.

Joe, great thought! Its the old idea of censorship through exclusion to some extent. If you aren't taking part in what's put forward it might as well not exist. Or, to look at it more positively, if you do what others don't, you are doing what you really want to do and feel and if you stick with it, it just might make its way out there. Anyway, thanks for the response!

Fine Art is kinda like the famous quote on porn. Hard to describe but you know it when you see it. As long as someone says it’s fine art, it is. Put it in a frame and hang it on the wall, looks like fine art to me.
