Barcelona continue to be active in the transfer market, bringing in Raphinha from Leeds United. Despite Barca’s restricted funds they have agreed a deal with the Premier League team for the Brazilian.

I think Raphinha is worth his price tag, but not necessarily to Barcelona. They have so many problems as it is, I don’t know that adding yet another forward is the best use of their money. As for Richarlison, I think that’s just an overpay lol

One of the real plus points of Raphinha is his heart and desire. He doesn't give up. He goes on the pitch to win. Add those qualities to his natural talent and you get an elite player.

And I think that’s what makes him different from our previous signings really. With players like coutinho and griezmann there’s just too much money, fame and pressure in place for them to meet the expectations. Hopefully raphinha can succeed in Barca, you can really tell his love for the game

Hey don’t know if this will get noticed but I would love to see a video on Nottingham Forest, I feel like they’ve made a lot of really creative and smart transfers this window and with some players like Djed Spence likely to leave, the team they put out this season is likely to look very different than the team that won them promotion, and I think they’re a sneaky pick of the three promoted teams to stay up. Would love to see you guys analyze the situation!

It's pretty obvious that Xavi sees and knows the value of an elite Brazilian playmaker on the pitch except this one is not in the mould of Ronaldinho, Kaka and all the many greats who preceded them, he is also getting a creative powerhouse with vision who'll get back and stuck in more akin to Dani Alves than the previous generations of elite Brazilian footballers, Rapinha closes down opponents which is what the modern game of hyper pressing demands of pretty much everyone playing on the pitch. Indeed Barcelona did not get done over via an insanely inflated asking price as they did for Coutinho and Griezman especially, I mean that was just crazy money for what they actually got, it's good to see them digging themselves out from under the rot as I enjoy watching when great clubs are playing great football. Given the nature of the market and the fact that he is a PL player, the price couldn't have been lower. The fact that the player wants to come and play desperately for the club matters a lot here.

That all might be true but it is a huge bet, Barca had to sell part of their tv rights to sign players like Raphina and Ferran, who are by no means top players. To bet the clubs future on these type of players is insane. They should've tried to come out of the financial hole they are in with this money but I guess Madrid winning it's 14th champions drove them mad

@@theMEXIKANNchannel EE winning the 14th CL title has nothing to do with it, this planning has been happening months before that. As for buying average players, both are by no means average imo, they aren't and at this point the most important thing that the club needs is willing players coming to play at sustainable wages and carry the club through the tough time. Getting good players at decent amounts in payments that are structured in the long term is the way forward and an institution of Barca's size needs revenue and lots of it continuously to stay at the top and among the best. That's the only way to get out of the current predicament. Going conservative which they can't do even if they try because the sporting costs are such will only lead to further damage and then financial peril.

A better safer move would be to sell some of their expensive players, wait until players like pique, Busquets and alba who have crazy salaries leave and use la massia that they so much bragged about to have a competitive team in 4-5 years. But no, instead they resign players like umitit, sergi Roberto and dembele, who have sucked big time, they pay Raphina money that Chelsea wouldn't pay, pay for Ferran Torres money no team would have paid, all in the hopes they win something this next couple of years. Not to mention not even with these signings and even with Lewandowski and Kounde will they be in the top 6 of teams in Europe when it comes to their squad, and Madrid still has a better overall team and is still more likely to win the league, especially with their new signings... It's clearly a super desperate move that was at least intensified cuz of Madrid's amazing years. I will be back in two years to tell you I told you so when Barca is being sold to some Arab or Chinese rich man

Here's what's weird though, at least from what I can see. Barcelona made a big deal just today (Jul 14) of re-signing Dembele. When Auba came in, those two worked really well together and i'd say their connection and Auba's goals kinda saved Barca's season. Guess where Dembele and Raphinha both generally play...

Here’s hoping Raphinha fits in well with a bigger club. Definitely a big improvement over a unreliable Dembele. I’d like to see Xavi starting Raphinha immediately, as well as keeping Frenkie to be used a double pivot alongside Kessie.

Backup...u never can rely on dembele...his injuries...and both are Little different... raphina is direct whereas dembele is not...a player like raphina gives u goals...and works most again teams who sits back....as creativity doesn't work so much at that time but constant shot coming pressure matters...he can play as a false nine...with Auba u can never rely...cuz stats showed that he scored 12 in 13 games like that... but he missed many too many ...and the frankfurt game went out of our hand...and wc coming we need to keep versatility,men to reduce fatigue... hope u understand

One main point you haven’t covered is Dembele. How can he be worth 50 million to Barcelona when they already have a player there? It’s like being cash strapped and buying a Ferrari while you already own a Porsche. While it’s a Ferrari, your money is more important elsewhere since you already have a super car sitting in the drive way.

Seconded. I just went and had a look at his 2021 season highlights reel. I reckon this is a good call as has the same positivity and dynamism as Raphina. I am a bit worried about the hole left in Leed's midfield by Raphina leaving, if they don't fill it properly they will end up relegated in 22/23.

Depth man,the truly successful teams have incredible depth and are able to rotate week in week out,We’ve improved our depth in attack,midfield,and defense and we’re still going after even more depth.Kounde,Azpi,and who knows who esle the board is planning,but these are all signings that will fit and increase the quality and depth of the squad,which is exactly the criteria of player a club should be looking for during the summer

they've basically paid for their hamburgers today and hope they don't go hungry later. Selling future TV rights and the Spotify deal means they have access to much more money now. They have been astute with some free signings. However, it's a house of cards that is going to catch up with them.

Is Raphinha better than Richarlison? I used to get them confused and now I need to know because Richarlison just moved to my team, Spurs.

raphinha is absolutely worth the money .. the fact that last season he was one of 2 players who generated 50 plus chances unfortunately Leeds did not have a striker to finish those chances now imagine having a pure 9 like Lewandowski to convert those chances ? adding raphinha in also means more unpredictability and squad depth especially with ferran ,dembele and now raphinha being able to play in both wings ... in a already inflated market where Antony from ajax cost 80 mil or Richarlison around 60 that good business from barca
