I got lucky and snagged this about 2 years ago for $5 before everyone started talking about it.
@Cellfix4 жыл бұрын
I got lucky myself! I saw it on eBay about 3-4 years ago (there is no way to get these kind of games else where in my country) for about $9-$10, no picture to show the item.. Imagine my surprise when it showed up as CIB, and a pretty good box and near mint cartridge it was as well!

YES. just, yes. Shadow of the Ninja (which has an unfortunate acronym of SotN so i can't abbreviate it, lest you think i'm talking about Symphony of the Night) has always been a favorite of mine. this is on my brother and i would play co-op all the time, i always had to be the girl ninja though. it only scarred me emotionally a little bit. but yes, fantastic game and always comes to mind when people ask for underrated NES games. preach it, brother!

I never ever hear about this one when it comes to NES co-op, same with Jackal for that matter. It's a shame, they're right up there with the best
@torgogorgo18887 жыл бұрын
I had been interested in this game for a while and didn't even know it had co-op. That made me want to own it more as there aren't a ton of co-op games in this style. Another Ninja co-op game is Ninja Crusaders. I don't like it as much, but it is interesting as you can transform into animals as well.

Best 8-Bit ninja game period. Natsume really knew how to make such excellent ninja games. Shadow of the Ninja, Ninja Gaiden Shadow (Game Boy Shadow of the Ninja published by Tecmo), and Ninja Warriors on Super Nintendo.

@@Victory-in-YAHUSHA but that's a modern game. it has an 8-bit artstyle, but it has an inherent advantage over authentic 8-bit games due to being much newer and more refined.

I have very fond memories of this game. In 1991 9 year old me poured out all my savings on the counter in a store in North of Sweden to buy it. The title in Europe was, however, Blue Shadow because "ninja" sounded too violent.

Idk if it’s because I’m just starting to play it but damn I’m having a much tougher time with it than Ninja Gaiden or Castlevania. Some of these mfs starting on the second level take like 10 hits for em to die! And you get absolutely swarmed at some points and they just drain all your health. The limited continues thing to me almost puts it above the other two.

Kickmaster has more interesting ideas in it, but doesn't feel quite as smoothly executed as this game. It's more impressive on some points, but I found it less fun to play. My only complaint with Shadow of the Ninja is it's a little short.

The sword should always be the primary weapon the others should be pickups
@fishyfinthing88542 жыл бұрын
I feel like the sword and chain knife are pretty balance primary weapons. Sword start with faster attack speed then longer range late upgrade. The chain knife start with slower attack speed but better range and coverage then have double attacks late upgrade. I find suriken last upgrade to be less reliable. About grenades, they are boss killer but good luck bringing them all the way to the end of the stage.
