It's incredible how productive I was when I stopped drinking for just one month, just the boredom alone pushes you to find something to do. I hand made a full set of garden furniture which I still have as a reminder. Remember, it's not abnormal to be sober, it's abnormal to be drunk.

@@HabitsV2 bored may not be the correct word. I went from hiking to backpacking, to flat water, white water kayaking, rafting, to scooters, to motorcycles, to offroading, to archery, to fire arm, yes working 2,3 jobs at one time, over 30 yrs. Now I'm slowing down. Hiking, bicycling, and archery. And my dog and garden.

7 months sober tomorrow after 11 years hammered!!... -Got my driving licence back. -Saved over £2500. -Renewed my passport. -made amends with family members -sleep solidly -cleaner house -new clothes -eating throughout the day.. I wouldn't have done any of those things if I was getting shit faced every night. Alcohol is the fxxkin devil

yes. i thought it would be as hard as trying to moderate. like a daily battle for the rest of my life. that was the only experience i’d had of changing my drinking and i didn’t think that was worth it. but it isn’t an impossible daily battle, it’s not anywhere near as hard as moderation. the further away you get from it the more insane and wasteful it looks. 30 years on 4 years off. what a massive relief it is.

Recently I had a private fit of anger toward alcohol and the damage I had allowed it to do to my life. It was a release of energy I have needed to experience for a long time. I felt that I absolutely hated that shit. It consumes your daily life. After sobriety, there is much inner work to do, day by day. And each little step a long the way builds confidence. Thank you for your inspiration!!

"It's all about changing mindsets" loved this! I passed my 2 year mark in August, but lately have been in a 'funk', and now realize it's about setting new goals for myself. I've already gone through the early/easier ones I set for myself these last 2 years but haven't made any new ones for myself lately. Definitely going to do this to keep changing that mindset from creeping up again. Thanks for the reminder today :)

Great video as always Kevin. For me I look at the difference in myself 6 months without alcohol. This compared with me drinking; automatically keeps me away from alcohol again. It's a no brainer. Hopefully we won't be going into oblivion. I'd like to think all our troubles in life have a good ending. 😎

Been sober for a good year yes there's a lot of boredom there's still cravings alcohol would make me feel good for a good while but after a year sober, nope I don't want to go back to hungovers and feeling sorry and feeling weak and putting up weight I rather be sober and transform my body for the better than trade it for a worthless drink.

Hi Keven, Hope you are well, and life is good. I must say when I stopped drinking alcohol I found that the fog in my mind really did start to lift and clear...it was as if my IQ had jumped up a few notches. Thinking and speed in both mind and body had so vastly improved. Sadly I went back on the booze and I am going to retry a stoppage of alcohol again...Onwards and upwards

Those thoughts get fewer and far between. I’m 3 months sober and I miss the pubs and banter but now the thought of the day after gives me cringey feelings and that’s what propels me on and I’m not prepared to pay the price of a crap whole day wasted for just a few hours of joviality and dancing.

I wish i could quit alcohol. I don't do it often, but my best friends always drink when we're all together. And they are truly good friends, not people that i should cut ties with. It's just so hard to give up that goofing around together. But god. Every sunday i wish I'd have just not done it.

I quit drinking 10 years ago and have been a vegan for 20 years. Went to a steak restaurant, and ordered a beer and a steak. I enjoyed the steak, but after a few sips of the beer, I gave the rest to my friend. It just doesn’t need to be in my life.

If you drink enough of them , you'll get a buzz and that might be trouble. And it's a waste of money . If you drink 12 cans of 0.4% non alcohol beer, that equals 1 can of real alcoholic beer. So that might be a problem.

I dont see an issue with it. In fact I have been exploring NA beer and drinks. They are a whole new world. Also, it really helps me to not feel left out. So NA is a win win. But in the future if I decide to quit that also, then I may consider it, as it does work out expenive - well just the same cost as normal beer/drinks!
