I think Super Saiyan will still be a relevant transformation, they just wont be used as much. I like the diversity of the different forms the group us taking on now. It opens the door for new possibilities, rather than utilizing same name transformations with a different hair color.

Agreed! With everyone being unique, it helps keep the story fresh and engaging and no matter what they decide to do with Super Saiyan, it’ll without a doubt stick around as long as Dragon Ball keeps going.

Something I want to see back is Super Saiyan 4. It was one of my favourite forms and looked amazing Sure it would work much now that Goku and Vegetta are on a much higher level but imagine someone else like Broly or someone like him gets SS4? That would be amazing

@@bokcmeechie938 Broly wasn’t canon either but they did a pretty good job bringing him into canon. I’m sure if they really wanted to, they could do the same thing with Super Saiyan 4. Should they though? That’s a different conversation and everyone has different thoughts on that lol

For sure! Even with the Goten & Trunks portion of the Super Hero arc (the current manga arc) Super Saiyan was still pretty relevant to their characters because they fought smaller-scaled villains.

I think Super Saiyan got lame as soon as the Android arc... Too many people unlocked it and this "legend" became nothing. Overexposed and not rare enough. Goten and Trunks really drilled this into the ground. I think, ironically, the Android arc DID introduce something interesting with SSJ--everyone having a specialized version of it. Super Vegeta, Ultra Trunks, SS2 Gohan... I think they should have kept it like that. Make every character have a unique specialized form of SSJ. That would make the concept WAY more interesting, instead of the linear progression that everyone has access to. Uniqueness, uniqueness, uniqueness. Drop power levels and give us more unique powers. DBS has been going in the right direction lately with Ultra Instinct, Ultra Ego, not to mention everything new Broly has going on. Not a hard rule--it's ok if a *few* characters share a form/technique--this is just an idea to make things more interesting and varied 🙂

Agreed! I think it comes down to how each character uses the form and depending on what they do, there's still a level of uniqueness and relevancy behind it all. Like how I said Goku could use SSJ forms in conjunction with Ultra Instinct, that's a concept that we've only really seen him do.

I think Super Saiyan will still be relevant in terms of Dragon Ball’s branding and identity, but story wise, Super Saiyan is definitely used as a sort of “Battle Appetizer”. However, I do like how the new Ultra transformations are unique to the characters that have them. (even if Gohan Beast kinda just happens) I do remember hearing the theory of Goku using Ultra Instinct stacked with Super Saiyan back when Ultra Instinct was first revealed

That’s a pretty good way at explaining it! Super Saiyan will without a doubt stay alive as long as the series continues, I just hope DBS capitalizes on the fact that it can be combined with techniques like Ultra Instinct, if not just for telling a good story, but for for branding purposes.

They definitely led into that concept with Goku using UI in his God form against Granolah. I'd be interest to see what he does in the future!

As Much I like those Strongest Transformations like True Ultra Instinct or Ultra Ego or BEAST etc. Doesn't mean they are Iconic then OG Super Saiyan itself. SSJ Is Too iconic (Still My No.1 alongside SSJ2, SSJ3 Transformation and even SSJ4) to be Abandoned or Irrelevant. Super Saiyan (超サイヤ人/Sūpā Saiya-jin) will always have a Special place in my Heart. 💛💛

For sure, the original Super Saiyan is one of my favorites, it'll always have a place in my heart. I just hope DBS capitalizes on the idea that it can be used in conjunction with UI like what we saw in the manga, it'd be real cool to see it be brought back that way

I think they will bring it back in a new way. Maybe they will bring ssj4 in canon or will make ui ssj. Think about it, sayjans rageful strength combined with movement hard to track of ui.

SSJ + UI definitely seems to be the next logical step imo, but they could also bring SSJ4 back if they really wanted to. Anything is possible really

I think Super Saiyan is going to be the go to form for the next generation like Goten, Trunks, Pan and maybe Bulla. They can use it for enemies that are only a danger to Earth.

Definitely! Goten and Trunks are due for an ascended version of SSJ imo, but Pan and maybe Bulla definitely deserve to start their SSJ journey

Yes it is, notice how even in the new movies super saiyan is always used, it’s used as a gauge for the user to see how strong the person they are fighting, really is.

Definitely and I think it’ll always be used that way as long as the series continues. However, I think it’s possible for the form to still be relevant in more ways than just that, like from a story perspective and even as a way to advance both Goku and Vegeta’s characters

It's possible, if Toei decides to end Dragon Ball right here and now. But if the series keeps on going for years, we'll probably see more forms

The first SSJ is too iconic for the show to gloss over. Either they give Goku SSJ + UI or they give him SSJ3 + UI. To me, SSJ3 was always the coolest forms out of all. It made Goku look menacing. It also made him look like a vocalist out of a metal band 😂. People have been complaining Super made Goku dumb, with SSJ3 they can bring back his edge again. Anyways, nice video

Why would the era be over when there are other saiyans that hasn’t passed ssj3 n we don’t know what could happen to them to make them somehow surpass that in the future

I wasn’t really saying “this era is over” I was asking the question on whether it is or isn’t to segway into the topic of the video. But in reality, all the characters who haven’t even gone SSJ3 yet, they don’t have enough of an impact on the story, at least not currently.

Yes it’s both. It’s a technique at its core but Goku has been able to better utilize it in transformations, which are what UI Sign and the silver haired UI are

Super Saiyan is irrelevant to universe 7, mostly all the z fighters minus Yamcha were around ssb in the t.o.p arc... besides Goten and Trunks i guess. I think its going to be a universe 6 thing 🤔 Give me ssj4 though, it may be an inferior transformation but it was so badass.... can't say the same for the rest of gt lol
