Sometimes, curiosity gets the better of you and it sends you off on a mission to find answers... and that's what this video is all about. An interesting (race?) car that looks like an F1 car of sorts was spotted in my M8 motorway video released in August.
I had to find out what this car was, who owns it and why...

I honestly think that if someone made a Top-Gear-esque TV show with a focus on “any random interesting shit” rather than just cars, presented by John, Tom Scott, and Jay Foreman, it’d be a huge smash hit just like the Clarkson-era Top Gear.

Living near Glasgow I have actually seen this on the road a couple of times now. In fact the first time I found it trundling along in front of me I was so startled that I blooming nearly ran into it... Thankfully the brakes on my Honda Insight are pretty good, so any temporary minor lapse of attention on my part was easily and swiftly corrected, but it is certainly fairly eye catching, and not really something one expects to find on an urban Motorway. I bet it was fun to ride in though.

I did too. Not sure why people find the Scottish accent hard to understand. I watched a documentary about a poor area in Glasgow and so many were commenting that they could not undertand them but I could understand them just fine, despite being from south East England and living in south west England.

@@Vondracar I'm sure there's some kind of link between Scottish and Scandinavian accents. When I was at school I had a teacher who was from Sweden but had lived in England for quite a long time, which resulted in her sounding Scottish.

Thanks to Alan for showing off the car. Amazing effort from you, Jon! But more importantly, what an amazing story! Accidentally capturing a special vehicle, somehow finding the owner and then making a video about it. P.s: some amazing camer work you've got there! And also the flow and the editing feel very "pro" if you may. I definitely felt like I was watching a short documentary from a much larger producer. Proper auto journalist vibes.

Well John, I have to say I absolutely loved this episode. What a really lovely genuine guy Alan seems. Hate say but I suspect if he was from nearer my neck of the concreted woods he’d probably be an unbearable Berkshire Hunt, so seeing someone who has done well for themselves from a clearly modest background and has still managed to be a normal guy is an achievement in itself 😎 As for the rarity of the car, it made me chuckle a bit. Where I live, there is an (unfortunately ) ample supply of eejots who literally have more money than sense (or taste) and chose to pay ridiculous sums for their high performance cars which they drive around small towns and spend about a fiver each time they unnecessarily speed from 15 to 30 mph just so they can make a noise. And they seem oblivious to the fact that far from making them stand out as individual, it just makes them stand out as a member of the Utter Melt Club…🙄 However, I’d far rather have something like this as it is a proper racer and requires one to properly control the vehicle as I suspect the normal array of sensors that prevent idiots from crashing but fools them into believing they are good drivers are not fitted 🤣😂😊 Thanks John, really enjoyed it 😊👍🍻🍀
