My wife has the 2017 Plat with the 3.5 V6 and hybrid and that thing MOVES (even with CVT..... )! How does this compare?

When we drive on highway only, does the hybrid works or only gas engine works ? I think 2.4 liter turbo or 2.5 non-turbo with 7 people and luggage is small engine for a long trip. How many horse power when driving only on highway? Any advices or explanation. Thanks

We have had Toyotas since 2003 and have leased since 2016 and I and currently leasing a Taco TRD SPORT and like the trucks better then the crossovers or a car for that matter. I can’t see myself driving a crossover all the time. It is just wasted interior room I am 75 and the wife if 76 so I am not caving in to what she wants this time. My lease will be up in Dec 25!and I am thinking a truck is still the way to go. And put my name in for the cooker that looks cool.

I appreciate you commenting on seats. The lumbar support on highlanders is too low for my 6’ body and Honda Odysseys and Pilots 1019 and 2023 hit me perfect. How is the grand highlander lumbar support for a 6’ person? Too low like highlander?

Thank you for the great review, absolutely love the size of the Grand Highlander but it just looks like a RAV4 on steroids, they should have called it accordingly, the Grand RAV4. The regular Highlander has much better style and body lines, but then again it’s my personal opinion.

Another reviewer trying to explain to us how much room they have in the second and third row seats without letting us know how tall they are. So how are we supposed to get a feel how much room there is without your heights?

think you should just mash it on 0-60, don't brake boost it.

Brake boosting it shaved half a second off. We try multiple launch methods on every 0-60 test and go with the best result. We just don’t film all of it.

The 2016 had 270HP out of a V6 and this thing has 265HP with a 4 CYL engine? No thanks. You can still tweak the V6 power plant and get more HP out of it.

And you can’t “tweak” a turbo motor to make a lot more than the v6? Plus Toyota has hybrid max trim of this with 360ish hp and 400ft lb which the v6 could never come close to.

Sadly this move to the 4cyl turbo is solely due to emissions requirements that the V6 couldn’t hit. The move was not for more power, or MPG.
