The Condor Tool and Knife Golok is one of the most popular machetes in search engines and on retail websites. I am not quite sure why, but I decided to buy one to get some clicks and have fun chopping things in my backyard. All of the Advanced Knife Bro favorite’s are here: bamboo, rotten wood, sticks, and limbs from shrubberies. So is the Golok one of the best machetes? Remember Betteridge’s law of headlines- if the title ends in a question mark the answer is generally “No.” However since KZfaq loves vague questions as video titles, why not clickbait-it-up. Other knives you’ll see: A marbles 18” machete, the Ka-Bar Parangatang, and the Ontario 18” military machete. There's field testing, hard use, a torture test and more things designed to rank higher in SEO. Ok I don't torture it- let's call it enhanced batoning.

I got all of y’all beat. SAK hiker and cold steel super edge on main set of keys. SAK camper on spare key. Cold steel Recon 1, cold steel ultimate hunter, cold steel Finn wolf, cold steel SR1. Two front and two back pockets. Mora elderss Neckknife. SAK lite card and SAK money clip in the wallet. Leatherman wave in the smoke pouch. Then one of a dozen different 3 1/2 to 8 inch belt knives!

My 3rd Heineken comment and BA opinion . I've had this same blade for 2 years and love it . The sheath is Excellent and edge retention on the steel is also Excellent . Some people have no concept of gripping the top 4 inches and using a blade like this for cleaning fish , butchering and skinning game or trimming their nails . Great video and time for another .... maybe a Corona and a slice of lime . ATB

Love the Condor Golok, I have this one, and an older model with thinner stock, and the tang ends before the ball. Solid performance for years, and the steel is great, it’s tough and sharpens up real nice. I carry on weak hand side for ease of draw.

100% agree with you on finger grooves! I always wanted a Golok. I also agree with shorter blades for chopping. But yeah the Golok seemed pretty effective for harder wood chopping! Too bad yours is now worth about $2 because you used it! Had you only put in the safe It might have kept up with Condor's spiraling retail value!

If you are opening a path in the jungle then golok or parang (machetes in Indonesia and Philipina) is more suitable than kukri or even axe. Its also a perfect tools to open hard fruit like coconut or durian. Axe is more suitable in chopping a tree though.

I used a H&B forge tomahawk to cut down a garage full of tree branches...I compared it to a kukri and noticed with the hawk the 1 LB weight prevents hand fatigue because you dont have to swing so hard. The hawk also had more precious cuts..

I really think you'd like the makara machete by condor. Ive got TWO. (bought one used for 80 bucks). Its 18 inches but has a much longer handle for better reach while still having decent one handed control due to the balance point.(because of the longer handle) Has more of a traditional machete thickness which is a plus in my opinion Its basically a budget SuperAssassin (you know, the thing Dan Keffler one hit TKO's trees with.)

I watched this video. I went away. I bought this thing. I came back. Now I own one of them. It’s heavy and got blunt very quickly. This is a comment on a KZfaq video. It’s still cool looking: like a pirate sword. Pretty useless though. The belt loop is very questionable. If you have other sharp stuff to cut things with then use that. Be well. End of KZfaq comment.

My design and creation. I call it a Borneo Parang. 19" overall length with a 13" blade from 6150 steel, convex grind, and a burl wood handle. Weight is 1.5lbs. Hardness is 58-60. I used to make and them and others but at $90 no one wanted to pay the price so I stopped. - @t
