In this field test bushcraft style review, I'll compare three popular Machetes, from Tops, Esee (from Imacasa or Condor), and Marble's- 12718W 18" workhorse blade. I'll contrast the blade steel, discuss handle, measure things, and wear all three on my belt at the same time. You'll see all the sorts of important tests like batoning, chopping bamboo, dual wielding in slow motion, and the breaking down of last year's Christmas tree. While this may not be the most thorough, scientific, or best review of a machete on the internet- it might be the most important for you to see. And if you don't agree, keep your opinions to yourself, jerk.

Your reviews are hilarious! I actually had a Marbles cutlass machete w/ the sheath. The tip poked through the cordura sheath. It rubbed me the wrong way, mostly because the company I bought it from refused to give me a replacement sheath. Consequently, I gave up on Marbles. That said, while their sheaths definitely could use some more rivets on the seam, I suspect the poke through wouldn't have happen on a machete w/ a less pointy tip. Aside from the blade poking through the seam, the sheath was actually really nice compared to what other machete companies make.

Hello, JFYI: there's a reason or that forefinger seperation. Most don't know how to properly use one of these - in that most chop w/a full solid group-those that use that will tire out and bliccmster their hands.. The experts of using these in S. America, let's the blade do most of the work by locking their thumb and forefinger together and a very light grip to maintain control w/the rest of the fingers. Once that American (who thought he knew everything) noticed he wasn't able to keep up w/his S.A. counterparts - he had to ask an English speaking friend to find out why (both tools used were identical). The above described hand-rather two-finger chop method was the only difference: Hence the reason TOPS put that finger hold there, oh, btw-the info was't from them-and, unless I'm mistaken, of those shown-TOPS is the only one who makes knives for our military! Be safe, take care, "GOD Bless", sincerely - P.S.: My preference would be the TOPS, because who'd want a tool that can be used in more than just one was-and something too flexible won't stand up to thicker wacking, and a heaver blade does more cutting when letting the blade work! "Smarter, not harder" type of thing.
Now THIS is entertainment! 🤣
