With respect Ciara, there IS an enormous difference between a skilled immigrant who has come here through LEGAL channels, who has a strong work ethic and wants to contribute to Ireland, and who is also willing to respect our culture and traditions, and on the other hand, an opportunistic grifter who wants to sneak in here - under cover of being a 'refugee' - to latch onto our very generous welfare system because our government has issued an open invitation to 'asylum seekers' from around the world. We know about the % coming from safe countries, that identifying documements are being destroyed, that a huge number are bogus applicants, and that almost no one is being deported. Irish people don't have an issue with skilled immigrants coming through legal channels in manageable numbers that the economy could sustain.
