Keep in mind my hair is low porosity. It gets build up pretty quickly. It's also high density & coarse 💕✨

You got flakes right away !!!! That’s crazy. I used the leave in so it gave me moisture. But the hold is brutal 😂 I loved the hold it gave me for days, but I hated the flakes and the itchy scalp lol great review 💕

Thank you for always being so thorough! As this is a NYM video, I wanted to ask if you've ever used any products from their "Royal Honey & Kalahari Desert Melon" collection and, if so, would you recommend them? It says it was designed as a 'repair and protect' but as I read the ingredients for the different products, I didn't see any proteins! when most lines talk about repairing you usually find proteins of some sort in the formula but not in this line apparently. As always I love how thorough you are in these product review videos. You and I have completely opposite porosity levels (You mentioned having low whereas mine is high and sucks product in/out like a sponge) but I really trust your judgment. I have two new favorite deep conditioners in my cupboard thanks to your videos (I am now an avid Body Shop and Soultanicals fan). My hair is healthier now than it used to be even when I started wearing it curly back in 2008/2009.

Thank you so much! I’ve actually used the leave in from that collection & I think it’s okay nothing great. If you want something more repetitive I’d probably look into something else. Thank you for trusting my judgement. Soultanicals is amazing! I just placed an order again a few days ago. & that body shop hair mask is great! 💗💗💗

Thanks for your review! The gel did give me a cast and was somewhat drying. I tried not to use too much and as my hair was drying I noticed my scalp started itching a bit and my hair felt kinda sticky, which I couldn't stand and had to wash out. Typically I don't like to use products that have protein in it, but I had to give the product a try. I also tried the treatment oil, which seemed nice since it was lightweight and not greasy. My hair tends to like argan oil however. Both products though I wouldn't repurchase.

Thank you for watching! Interesting. What’s your porosity?
@TheAmazinBlazian3 жыл бұрын
@@AlexasCurls I think the porosity of my hair leans more toward high (not using the water test).

I've been using the gel for a few weeks and LOVE it! I do not get flakes or itchy. But I do add water to my palm. I think that helps. I also break the cast with jojoba oil. That has been the only oil my hair and scalp like.

Adding a little water and rubbing it with the gel helps a lot. I get a great cast and no flakes at all. I use 100% jojoba oil to break the cast and my hair is super shiny and soft to the touch. Btw, my hair is more wavy, so maybe that's why I had better results.

@AlexasCurls3 жыл бұрын
what's that?
@Star-dj1kw2 жыл бұрын
I thought the hold this gel was overkill. I gave me crispy ends. I even diluted it with water in my hands as I applied it ☹️ - but it was a fail for me. I used a moisturizing cream underneath it but I still struggled to break the insane cast from this gel. 😖 It was drying.

Hi alexa,Have you tried neutral protein filler and mixed in with your products for a protein boost.
@rachellep25813 жыл бұрын
Swavy Courtney damaged her hair to the point of having to get a haircut, while playing with this protein filler. I would use with extreme caution ⚠️. Protein overload is no joke it will snap your hair off.

@@somiaa74 Yes I understand, it can be a real struggle. I just wanted to mention it because it is quite unpredictable. After seeing what happened I prefer to leave product formulation to the professionals lol. Not that you cant get protein overload from them. They are just way more predictable and less harsh then the neutral protein filler. I used a protein treatment twice a month when I was transitioning and a protein leave in conditioner every washday. I found balance with this method and I hope you find your perfect hair recipe. Good luck in your journey Sam 😃.
