I got a Thornkit moment that I will cherish forever but most of this book was a retread of already bad material that was made worse with the forced passivity of the protagonist and the new lore set in recently. Side note: I'm loving the new sprites! A very nice addition to your videos and a lovely style from Vexnie!

I think iam at a point where nothing will be a hindrance to me finding enjoyment from anything the series produces, more character info(love the name volewhisper) more stories, literally any new ideas the Warriors team can come up with, will always get my approval, Exile is no different.

I think that the new books moving forward, should be about the current plot. The constant moving back and forth is starting to get old. Although I do appreciate the art in these new graphic novels, most of the stories are stuff we kind of already know. We know who is going to live and who is going to die. Also, nice sprites.😎

I actually really enjoyed it 😭 As someone who hasn't read Yellowfang's secret either, this book covered a lot that I didn't know about I didn't know about what was happening in Shadowclan during that time (except for the little flash backs in Blackstar novella) and this manga showed it in a way that I enjoyed it Also I didn't know much about Nightstar, since the only thing I've read was from the first arc and Blackstar novella, which wasn't much. This manga also felt way more natural than the other stories from warriors. I tend to feel warriors characters as forced, like, why would they follow a leader who is killing kits just because? In the manga, it shows how the clan culture itself is the one that make this kind of leaders rise, and the reasoning behind it. Also shows in a way that I loved and felt it very natural how Nightpelt didn't come from nowhere to be leader, but that his personality, totally contrary to Brokenstar, is what made the clan chose him. I also prefer to read about old characters than the new ones, but thats more personal I think lol

This novel, in my opinion, is great! I love the story and how it allows you to see how the elders felt when Brokenstar was made leader.

Starclan denying Nightstar any lives because Raggedstar is still walking around is such a poor excuse when 1. The very code says that one of the ways a deputy can become leader is if the current leader retires. And 2. Pinestar was "retired"/had abandoned his clan when Sunstar went to get his lives, and they at least gave him 8. (which makes me wonder if any new leader only gets 8 if the old one is retired in the elders den, or if by Starclan's logic they get 9 because the old leader is still in/still a part of the clan).

I love Exile from Shadowclan, but I think it would be nice to get some mangas about characters from never books. Characters like DarkTail, RowanStar, basically any of og SkyClan cats and a lot more characters could make for interesting protagonists of one

Ohhh yeah!! I remember looking up Tallstar’s revenge like two days ago and seeing that and being like: “Wait... I haven’t seen that cover yet..” and it said it was AT BOOKS A MILLION and I totally forgot to get it ☠️ also I ADORE the new sprites!! They look so sick! 10/10 to the artist, it kind of looks nostalgic to me!!

Oooh that's an interesting review. I thought it was pretty good! Personally speaking. It was actually interesting getting to know more about Nightstar and his involvement in his leadership with his fellow exiled clanmates after getting cruelly cast out by Brokenstar. It definitely made me like Nightstar even more since reading the graphic novel. Of course, there were definitely some parts of the story that made me recoil and on edge whilst reading in regards to Brokenstar abusing his power for the sake of vengeance and tyranny. The ending left on a cliffhanger like I expected but we already know what happened anyway, especially given the fact that this graphic novel is tied to TPB (Forests of secrets to be specific if I'm not mistaken). All in all, it was a good read, and I'd probably read it again without hesitation. Btw sorry if this comment turned out wonky, I'm still learning to write reviews and I'm extremely horrible at it mind you

tbh for me it makes sense that Brokenstar still had his lives while Nightpelt couldn't have none, because as we see from Rowanstar, the leader must give up on them on their will. The new rule in the new code probably will start actual conflicts about it: would 2/3 + medicine cat be enough to strip their leaders of their lives?? I think this is is the point they want to make it

I enjoyed this book, but it's not memorable at all! Nightpelt is very passive, doesn't do much. The main thing differentiating him from the elders is his age. I liked how he goes from feeling useless to understanding that his disability is not a burden, but aside from a few points, like when the apprentice got hurt by the rats, the plot was pretty meh and just "we're thriving on our own!! woohoo!" the entire time. The good thing is that it's a graphic novel so it didn't take long to read at all. The scenes where blood was spilled were a surprise as well, I'm still not sure how that bypassed the restrictions.

Mild spoilers ahead! My favourite thing about this book was seeing Brightflower! She’s so pretty! Also, was Raggedstar always a Persian/flat faced? Seems kinda weird that both Yellowfang and Raggedstar are, and I could only see that coming from Kittypet blood. I know there’s a ton of incest in the clans but it weirded me out a bit when I read the Starclan scene.

Waiting on my copy in the mail. ShadowClan is my favorite clan so this was a must-buy for me. Do you plan to read Yellowfang's Secret in the future? I thought it was worth reading. In fact it's in my top 3 favorite Warriors books. ^_^

I was really looking forward to this graphic novel, and although the art was great as usual, the story really disappointed me. Personally, if I had been in charge of writing this story, I would have made it about Nightstar's actual leadership of ShadowClan rather than how he got there. Start it off with his nine lives being rejected, then going on to how he rebuilt ShadowClan despite his secret and the looming threat of Brokenstar then Tigerstar. There are a lot of interesting moments in the first arc that could be expanded upon from his perspectice (examples: when RiverClan and ShadowClan teamed up to drive WindClan out again at the end of Fire and Ice, when ShadowClan and WindClan teamed up to raid ThunderClan with the goal of killing Brokentail in Forest of Secrets). Most of all, Nightstar's relationship with Tigerstar and how he came to trust him enough with the leadership of ShadowClan following his and Cinderfur's death during the greencough outbreak. I know, we've seen so much of Tigerstar, but he's a fun villain! Granted I haven't read Tigerclaw's Fury in a long time so that might be covered in there, but Warriors doesn't shy away from showing the same stuff through a different perspective, and the alternate media of this particular book being a graphic novel would make it different enough that I believe something like that would be worth it. I don't know, I just felt let down by this book. Here's to hope that Onestar's Confession and Sky live up to the hype (which I do believe they will, Onestar's Confession especially. So much potential!) Edit: Just looked over the Wiki page for Tigerclaw's Fury, and Nightstar's death is apparently just glossed over in the novella? Regardless, I still see potential there for an interesting story from Nightstar's perspective. Like, this new hypothetical story could end with Nightstar watching over his clan from StarClan, dread building as his clanmates call for Tigerstar to be leader. Perhaps he sees Tigerstar as almost a Brokenstar 2.0, and despairs over his clanmates making the same mistake he spent the last few moons of his life trying to fix. Not sure, but it just further deepens my disappointment to what we got in Exile from ShadowClan 🤷‍♀️

I mean I always get the new books and I love the art. But this one was just… cats joining Nightpelt and cats dying. The battle scenes went too quickly. But I’d recommend to any warriors fan

Idk yet, most likely not even though I love collecting the Manga for Warrior cats due to the style (I love the style for it), this one just doesn't sound interesting to me personally. When I heard about this coming out my first thought was "Why?" This doesn't feel like a character most people want to know more about. And the premise just sounded so boring. I felt like Yellowfangs Secret gave Nightpelt enough attention. Some characters work better as side characters rather than as main characters. There just wasn't a demand for it and I'm confused as to why this is the story the Hunters wanted to tell.

I read exile from shadowclan immediately after reading yellowfangs secret for the first time and because i read them in tandem exile from shadow clan didnt seem too bad but it definetely doesnt stand alone like the other graphic novels in the same style. Exile from shadowclan was fun by merit of it being a graphic novel and having a slightly different perspective but if not for wanting to complete my collection i wouldnt buy it- the information you gain from it feels like nothing more than suplimentary website bonus stories then a book u have to spend real life money on.
