Inflation is a mofo here in the States (matrix). That's why I love Philippines and Thailand.....in the matrix I'm middle class, in the Philippines, I'm a Rockstar 😂 , love the people and food....I just can't sing like a Rockstar.

Guys , become the best version of yourself (gym, eat/sleep correctly among other self-care practices).

Don't try 2 change the PH. If i don't like it i will go back 2 my country...

The westerner complain about inflation but they don't mention that the exchange rate of the peso is in favour of the USD and Euro.... The local people don't have the advantage.... If you live in an area where foreigners are living prices are generally higher but in rural areas prices are still okay. I pay for 1 l Golden Eagle beer 100 pesos (1.50€) you shouldn't complain... I have my own house, solar equipped, deep well and my monthly cost is 800 pesos (14€) housetax plus 1.400 peso WiFi (25€).. I don't think that I can live cheaper in the West.....😂

It’s depend how you spend your money wisely, but if you have so many unecessary expenses like casino, women, drinking liqour too much I think your money is not enough to live here.

I have to agree with the guy from California. You cannot trust those street food or carenderia. There's no food regulations in the PH. The food has to be kept on certain temperature at all times. Filipino turo-turo here in the U.S. they keep the food hot because it's required by law.

Welcome to the Philippines

Just this yr , here in rural texas , all haircuts are $25+tax+tip. Actually i shelled out $40 for less than 10 mins job. Its uniform herein all barbershop. One cannot literally pay less than $10 for a fastfood meal. Prices have gone up 100% or more for food . So, i wouldnt complain if im in the phils!

Nothing feels better than being able to gain a persons trust with one conversation. Big compliment. I personally liked their views aswell. Pretty mature and responsible perspectives.

As a Westerner or American, I don’t live in the area of the tourist and retirees and vacationers, digital nomads and expats I’m not rich by any means I have not explored a lot of the Philippines, but the exchange rate there’s no way you could ever think of surviving in America on the amount you can survive here looking at some of the more for lack of a better word luxurious areas still mind blowing difference between America and the Philippines, but the key to all of the people are outstanding compared to America so no matter what good or bad if you’re here from America, you are better off than in America if you can adjust to proper attitude of a non-American

Hi Alex i was there in Duma February and took dive lessons and certificate approval. Water is perfect along with people. Can’t wait to get back 😊. Retirement soon gonna rent out my house here in SoCal 🎉and head back !

Hey Alex -- interesting to hear these guys perspectives. -- Inflation is everywhere - however it is also 'relative' - or - 'compared to what' ? -- Some is worse than others from what I see here in the US - closely observing these past nearly 3 years. Seems like that if you stay within an hour or so of either Manila or Cebu - prices are much cheaper than in the City's. An hour S of Cebu or Manila are cheaper areas to live & remain close enough to visit or seek quality medical services. I know 2 people doing just that ! > One claims a budget 70% below the US average - and the other rents a nice 1 br apartment for $80 / mo. & both absolutely love it where they are !!! - - - I myself am seriously considering Tagaytay - a less crowded area for the cooler temps with fresher air & produce in a beautiful part of the country. Scenic mountain beauty all around --&-- only 1 hour to the Manila airport - or - to the beach ! Biden's America - 'really' - sucks.

My only advice is be Patient everything here is slower pace.

“Be careful of food.” You just don’t go to authentic and established Filipino restaurants.

I lived in the Philippines and Thailand.

For the foreigners, You will love it or You will hate it. For the foreigners, You must understand the toilet situation and the lack of commen sense of driving edict. And to those that already know, avoid the stupid people. I don't apologize for the last comment. I have come across these kind of people way too many times. I just say, I don't understand and walk away. But overall, I love the people. But I also enjoy my solitude, piece and tranquility. I also stay away from most foreigners. Luckily I haven't met any of those overbearing one as of yet.

The tourists are driving up the price. In other words, if the demand exceeds the supply then the price goes up.

Everywhere in the world getting more expensive, Philippines is a great place.

So Alex, when you ask someone about the scamming that can happen, it makes me think of an incident that happened to myself over 2 years ago. I had to get a legal document signed by a lawyer to submit for a paper trail for a fiance visa. My now wife was with me at the time, she was my Filipina fiance at the time, and we found a random lawyer next to a courthouse to sign the document and a fee was paid. We were in a hurry, and I just paid the amount, which I could sense was over double the rate it should be. Reason I know is because I found that out later. Lesson is to try and shop around for a GOOD and TRUSTWORTHY lawyer in the Philippines!! The scam just as much as anyone else!
