On the US Toyota is giving $16,500 toward purchasing or leasing one of these. Plus, some states and municipalities give another few thousand dollars. I got one 3 weeks ago. I love it.

Here in Denmark they had a good offer 0% interest, when it is 5 years old I can drive to toyota and be debt free, so no worries about resale, 10 years warrenty on the battery, I like how it is much closer to what I am used to in a car then most other EVs that is more like a car buildt around a smartphone/tablet, than a car like this that is buildt around the driver.. We also get a homecharger instalation for free. A car that cost 15K $ less would be more expensive to buy, because of the interest.. I look so much forward to getting it in 90 days, but it is pure torture for me to wait and wait and wait and wait.... I do not care at all, about what other people think about my new car, it is perfect for an old fart like me.. 🤩🤩

Nice car but wrong price. Based on its features and competition it’s $20k over priced. It should be sub $50k here in Aus.

I suspect strong regen is difficult to execute with RWD, so most manufacturers just stick to FWD. If you strong regen you want front wheels stopping your car not the rear wheels. I wonder how some RWD cars manage one pedal drive. Do they engage breaks at the front so front always breaks stronger than the rear.

In my opinion, one pedal drive is just a gimmick. It sounds like a by-product of auto-pilot development.

We have 2 bz4x in our businessfleet, next to Tesla's model Y. The Toyota is a good bev. Good range given the small battery pack, good warranty and good build quality as well. Nothing wrong with the car at all. Nearly as efficiënt ascthe model Y. Sales, lease!, are picking up in the Netherlands. 2nd best sold car in Norway, after model Y, this bz4x.....bestseller in Europe, nr 1 ev market. We achieve 435km range in summer and 325 a 350km in winter. We charge at our office or at home.

If you love Toyota and are familiar with build, quality and familiarity. You will love it, I have a 2024 XLE FWD bZ4x and I love it, also own a 2023 Tesla Model 3, build and quality is no comparison . Tesla is a joke of a car, considering getting rid of it.

@@axiomic Wind noise through the windows, both tail lights condensation and Tesla says it's normal and will eventually disappear. poor resale value. Truth is , there are so many other brands that build better cars now vs Tesla. The only advantage to Tesla is their charging infrastructures as you already know., this is the only big advantage owning a Tesla. I don't do long road trips in my EV cars so I don't rely on Superchargers .

$70,000 on road for the base FWD ??? And I'd still have to charge it at home using coal fired electricity (solar panels don't work at night). I care about our planet. I recycle plastics, cans, and feed local birds with food scraps. But I could buy an X-Trail with the same power, torque, better size, better back seat room, for $40,000 ! I think I'll save my $30,000 .

Range, fast charging rates, price all count against this EV. When you also factor in insurance costs, likely resale and the poor state of EV infrastructure it is an empathic no from me. I doubt Toyota will sell many of these.

Heater behind the glove box ‘more efficient than traditional..(!!)’ wrong!! Heat pump is the most efficient! Look at all the rubbish under the bonnet! Can’t package like Tesla yet they’ve had 12 years to copy & build. Love the ‘1 pedal ‘ driving explainer.. what a rubbish and lame excuse. And FWD, why not RWD? But people who can’t walk past the Toyota brand will think it’s the best ever, because they can’t think anything else!

Now I can see why Toyota CEO is crying loud against EVs as Toyota is losing out big time like Nokia & Kodak. 2 years ago, I bought a Toyota, not Tesla. Toyota EV is more expensive, with literally no expensive features looking like RAV4 with add-on. 70k is a luxury price you are paying. Plus, 71kwh battery is hardly achieving 400KM this means each 1 KWH Toyota is doing a 5.64km economy. On other hand Tesla have a 58Kwh battery only 50Kwh usable and people achieve around 450km giving literally 8.5 - 9km per Kwh which is 30% more and means cheaper as one KWH on road side cost $0.60 average. Plus Tesla cheaper and more better design with premium glass roof, sound proof kind of with better software and quality design and built. I will say Tesla is ahead of Toyota a decade. Now Toyota need to replan or lose out

In the meantime, Tesla laid off 10% of its global workforce. Does that sound like a company that is worrying Toyota?
@frankact6342
@frankact6342 3 ай бұрын
@bazinga615 staff laid off is different thing. Toyota not able to sell 500 EVs in Australia until now, and their target for a full year is 1500. Tesla sold 100k EVs already in Australia by now. If we talk about sheer volume, yes, Toyota is selling more, just like initially Nokia was selling more mobiles than iPhone & Samsung. Toyota & Honda were middle-class cars. Do you see any Honda sales now with the same numbers they used to sell a few years ago ?? After Covid19 Toyota & Honda prices on 50k means they leave the 25 - 45k space to fill the gap, which is now rapidly filling by MG, GWM & BYD. I am not against Toyota infact they make the most reliable cars. Now, they need to make sure many things they lacking otherwise, other companies will take a big chunk of their market

@@frankact6342 you’re assuming the car market will be a one trick pony- ie all EVs. The fact is the most successful manufacturers will be those that can profitably make quality cars across petrol, hybrid, plug in hybrid, BEV and even diesel. Toyota and many brands know the risks in putting all the eggs in one basket.

You know this thing is rubbish. Overseas they have a yoke steering wheel because you can’t see the instrument cluster. No glovebox, overpriced, and this model went on sale here because it’s not selling overseas. Ford ,gm, stallantis, merc, have all just jumped into bed with byd . Buffet was no fool.
