The P60C, not available at the time this video was made, is in my opinion and even bigger bang for the buck for indie filmmakers. The amount of colored light it puts out in a dark location is incredible. Just did a shoot in a warehouse with a HUGE metal staircase going up a wall, and I put this light under the stairs, behind clutter, and we blasted a high output fog machine from under the stairs upward as well. It is an incredibly intense and dramatic shot that would could not have done otherwise. The very saturated color was needed and the P60C provided it. I also used it to light a corner of a cabin interior. It also "revealed" a Freddy Kruger character (red where Freddy is discovered, and wherever he moves to). It does any shade of while light, any color, in any saturation, and provides soft light (though not incredibly soft, but great for many situations) especially with it's provided softbox. At $350 the P60C is a STEAL, especially for those of us who are not buying $1,700 lights every couple months. The P60C will likely fill your needs perfectly at a fraction of the cost.

So great to see Aputure devote their manufacturing resources to yet another new model to give to influencers when the last 3 invoices I've had with their products it takes over 2 months to get in stock and ship. As awesome as their lights are (and the P300c looks to be no exception) I'm getting a little tired of their business model.

Great post as always. But as some already mentioned, there are something wrong with the numbers in your comparison table. 300D MII measures 45.000 LUX at 1 meter with the hyper reflector and around 11.000 bare bulb at 1 meter. A downside with 300D MII is the difference in kelvin. I have three and two of them are closer to each other than the third one which actually only measures around 4.700 kelvin. The other two around 5.200 kelvin. So not close to 5.500 and huge problem when in need of the three all together. I'm thinking the Nova is worth the extra bucks due to all the RGB settings it has.

I wonder why no one is talking about / comparing this light to the DMG Rosco models , the SL1 Mix and the Mini Mix. I use these and they are freaking awesome and also adapt to on location shoots, they can be literally handheld, feature all the Rosco filters obviously. It’s no wonder why Rosco bought this small French company, they make good lighting fixtures. Having experience the DMG Rosco, I would love to see how this one compares for the price. Great video nonetheless

Nice light for sure when compared to an ARRI or other higher priced equivalent unit, and especially to lower-end units because of it's feature set. If you are making enough income on video/photo projects to justify this purchase only the purchaser will know if it fits in their business plan. Now if I was a rental house, this might be a very good choice as an asset to rent to out to smaller productions.

Thank you for an awesome review! This light may just be a game-changer for mid-budget video productions. We're a recording studio and have started a live/stream concert series. These lights could replace all of our cheap stage lights that look horrible on camera. Our only concern is the fan noise since we'll be recording live instruments and there may be a ton of mics around. Would you recommend this light for our purposes or is it too loud? Thanks again Kaleb!

I really want to see Aputure put this technology into a modular tube light system like the Came-TV Andromedas. I love the technology, but for my purposes, the output doesn't justify the form factor. I'd rather have some tubes that I could combine for a lot of output when the need arises.
