Got interested in drones begin of 2020 Started FPV w/Beta start kit in spring and became addicted.As newbie made mistake of cheaper kit not knowing about motors. Also bought Emax strt kt because cheap price but....EZ Pilot quad sucks. Bought 2 1/2s TinyhawkII that after much frustration finally found abt Bayang only protocol on my radio. Got RMstr TX16S and bound but not knowing any better had again thinking cheap $ bought a Chromebook for Betaflight which became another nightmare and so on...got this in the mail and without headache/nrvs brk dwn was FINALLY able to fly something w/new radio. Since I keep spending $ like I actually have some I'll start using your link. Stay safe, Stay aloft

I am both surprized and super happy that you did this review. Silverware and brushed micros deserve more coverage, since they still provide a great entrypoint into FPV. That little ducted drone flies so great 👍 plus it has potetial for learning how to code, compile and get results, if your interested in that. Great functionality with the OSD, to change some settings. Great review Joshua 👌

Tiny Whoops are also nice when it's 105 degrees out and 60% humidity like it is in San Diego right now, and it's too hot to justify bringing out the Vivid or Whirligig. NewBee Drone is my local drone manufacturer, that means my family can't yell at me because I'm supporting local businesses. You can bet I'll give them all my money when they finally figure out a digital Tiny Whoop.

New on FPV, I got a US65 for 2 years now. Been playing with the PIDs., but the whoop does not fly satisfactory the way I want it. Been reading about PMB. And applied settings like Props out. Still not satisfied. With this video, I'm going to get a NBD whoop even it is brushed motor. Like what your saying, I just want to fly and hone my flying skills. Not messing around with the engine and tuning. Like your content. 😁

It looks like it flies just like my Beta65 Lite running NFE Silverware. #1 Yes you can adjust settings in Silverware without flashing it. #2 Bayang protocol is lower latency than FRSKY, thus it is better. If someone made a larger diversity Bayang receiver for 5 inch drones, I would convert every last one of my drones over to it.

The updated LiteRadio 2 SE Radio Transmitter doesn't program with OpenTX anymore and is supposed to use a self-developed LiteRadio System instead. BetaFPV says" the new LiteRadio 2 SE Radio doesn't use Opensource OPENTX any more, it was replaced by Customed LiteRadio System, it can not support to program any setting." However this LiteRadio System software doesn't seem to exist. How are we supposed to set up the SE radio? This doesn't seem like a real improvement.

At 6:54 you have a shot of the OSD and being able to change the various flight modes' switch assignment. Is this same OSD menu in the new betafpv beginner kit that has a brushed whoop with silverware? If not, I assume this is yet another nod in the direction for this newbeedrone 65mm brushed non-betaflight quad vs the betafpv offering. Thanks, and keep up the good work!

I still have my first Eachine E011 boatd flashed with silverware that was my first quad 4 years ago and it is still my favorite. It's been thru countless motors from 6x15mm to 10x20mm in whoop form to the OG Boss7 frame. Absolutely bullet proof. FC at most was $10 7x16mm motor less than $2 a piece. Then eachine, boldclash and jjrc said no more. Popularity finally ruined it by knocking up motor prices to stupid levels same as brushless now.

What about Santa whoop (with silverware).. for me it is still the best quad at home. I have some brushless 65mm whoops, maybe it is my fault that I can't tune them right, but my santa whoop is better. Longer flight times, more durable..it doesn't stick on walls. It doesn't have osd, but you can configure beeps for range and battery on the radio. Greetings from Bulgaria :D
@ProjectMockingbird
@ProjectMockingbird 4 жыл бұрын
If you are DIY, the Santa Whoop (and others) can fly just as good as the Hummingbird, but you do have to know how to unlock the FC, program and flash it. Unfortunately you just can't flash this hex to just any Silverware quad as NBD has some custom code in it for their hardware. My very first Silverware FC was an E011

I just don't get the $50 price as compelling. As soon as you buy a set of motors when the included ones wear out, you're pretty much at Mobula 6 or Hummingbird Pro pricing, and then you have to keep doing that after X amount of hours flying over and over and over. If you like how it flies? Sure, I get that, have at it. But this is the exact reason I moved away from brushed in the first place - no turtle mode, which allowed me to finish second in a race because the third place pilot in question was flying brushed motors and crashed, and you have to continually replace the motors.
@heroflying
@heroflying 4 жыл бұрын
I just remembered, the third place pilot I beat WAS RABFPV. He and Tanner Rush were dueling with me a distant third, RAB crashed, couldn't turtle mode, and I came in second. I didn't even know who they were at the time. lol

Is there not cli mapping to get turtle mode to work properly for whoops. Once upon a late night I think I read it but can’t find dam thing again. Lol. Just was it switched which motors were used to flip quad than what stock turtle mode does.

Brushed whoop motor drivers usually don't support reversing. I believe there are one or two that do it but not many.

New to the hobby. Ive decided to go with the DJI headset for my 5" build. Would this mini whoop work with the DJI headset or would it require an analog headset? Thanks

Is the forthcoming brushless version going to be Silverware too? They're already got the brushless Hummingbird at an amazing price. I can't imagine something better and cheaper.

how long do the brushed motors last? and are there replacements available?

I would guess it’s just the slower and less authoritative response of the brushed motors that helps with banging into things... I remember my brushed whoop builds being better at smacking into things even with betaflight because the brushed motors just don’t respond as quickly/aggressively as brushless motors...

It’s a little more complex than that but since brushed has less power you can max out motor power in a manner you can’t in brushless and it will recover much faster. The “silverware spin” and it doesn’t work when you go brushless.
