This is Windows NT4 SP6 running on my Ryzen 9 3900X computer. All on real hardware, no emulation!

Impressive... the CPU is bored and the GPU probably doing its best to keep up, but that is sweet. I have been wanting to put together an older rig for machinima purposes... but I hadn't thought of NT4... well played.

I think you may actually get better OpenGL performance using a software renderer with that CPU rather than using that GPU. Interesting to see NT4 running on a Ryzen. I wonder if older NT would also run such as 3.51 or 3.1. I know Unreal Tournament runs under NT 3.51.

Yes, NT 3.51 works perfectly fine on this Ryzen 9, it even can get along with PCI-E gigabit cards! BTW, NT 4 is OK with Intel 13th gen CPU - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/eLl-Z5ak37K6pKc.html

HI BROTHER I want to install Windows 2000 on my Lenovo l520 but it gives a bluescreen I tried to integrate drivers into the dist using nlight but didn't work and I can't install uniATA because OS still has not been installed but the laptop is fully compatible with Windows XP and drivers the setup starts without any errors with orginal cd in xp so what to do for windows 2000 Please HELP ME GUYS

my only problem with NT4 is the lack of 3d gpu support. basically it is only 3dfx or matrox graphics cards, all other older video cards lack hardware opengl support or they're very buggy. nvidia is my only hope but i haven't find any conclusive report of anyone testing opengl support with those cards. i can only assume it's the same with other video card vendors e.g S3, ATI, 3D Labs and etc.

I never heard of a universal PATA and SATA driver for Windows XP/ Server 2003, do you have a URL to it?

Is it possible to install NT4.0 from USB? Been trying to do it for a month

It might be possible, but depends on how is your USB drive emulated by your BIOS. It's much easier to install it from DOS, like I did with Windows XP in my latest video. Just replicate my procedure, the only difference is that you have to make a FAT partition instead of FAT32. Here is the video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rqxgdNN51bbMXaM.html

My computers: Machine 1: WinXPproMCE/WinVistaU/Win7U x32/Win7U/Win81pro/Win10pro/XubuntuStudio x64 i7-4960X 3.6GHz S2011 980Ti 32GB-QC DDR3-2400 Machine 2: Win95a/WinNT4ws/Win95osr2.5/Win98a/Win98se/WinME/Win2Kpro Pentium-4 3.8GHz 2MB S775 6800GT 512MB-DC DDR-400 Machine 3: MSDOS622+WFW311/WinNT351ws and MSDOS622+Win31/WinNT31ws (2 separate SSDs). Pentium-III 1.4GHz S370 TNT2 384MB PC-133 Plus a dedicated Linux Box: i7-3770 3.4GHz 8MB S1155 (Intel OBV) 32GB-DC DDR3-1600 - Runs Debian, Arch, Slackware and Gentoo in multi-boot. There are more, but those four are what I call my personal museum systems. Since there's little to no hope of ever being able to buy a "Modern" machine, I worked with what I had, and there you go.

Nice collection there. On my Ryzen 3900X/Voodoo 3 PCI - I have all operating systems installed except Windows NT 3.1 and Server 2003. With NT 3.1 I couldn't do it, and with Server 2003 didn't bothered since I have XP64 which is basically the same. I have a K6-2/500 with CRT and AWE 64 gold + Voodoo Banshee. Also lots of MB + CPU kits.(over 50)

@@O_mores Aside from the 4 listed above, I am only guessing but I have enough "junk" to build I think 12-15 more machines, all significantly aged. But of those, I have two that I consider my prizes: Amptron DX9200i 80486-DX/4 100, 64MB FPM-70 RAM. SCSI, IDE, and an SB16 (not lucky enough to have an AWE card) running a Genoa Phantom 64 2MB VLB video card. And a Morse KP386T 80386-DX/33 with Intel FPU, 128KB cache, and a Trident 8900 1MB VGA. They're built, but nothing on them yet. I had to adapt them to ATX cases because you really can't find reasonable AT cases anymore. I have a Voodoo3 card, but don't use it because none of my monitors can match it's refresh rate, and the screen is always half off to oblivion.

I have also lots of 486 motherboards, but I have to find some time to make some videos about them. Fortunately, I have like 3-4 Creative AWE 32/64 cards.
