Very nice gun, I have two side by sides, Jabali 28" barrel and VG Bently animo 30" barrel , both from Ieba Spain 1959 and 1961 and in very good condition, thanks

I prefer the skeletal (bar-in-wood) version. McNaughton originate the design and Dickson improved it by adding the barrel-coking feature. The McNaughton cocked the mainspring with the top lever, which required more force.

"Don't worry about the steel shot thing" Yikes, I destroyed a really nice O/U in one year when the USFWS switched to steel. The barrels bulged directly behind the chokes. And, yes, I was using the recommended chokes for steel. The local smiths told me at the time that they were seeing about one gun a week with what they were calling steel shot syndrome. If you can find alternatives to steel, use them.

@@philt5782 Of course, and maybe a couple of other alternatives. However, everyone now using lead will switch at the same time and create a shortage, leaving steel.

This is the first I heard of it right here. That tells you something about my depth in this domain. But I have a Rizzini headed my way and panicked that I’ll start ruining it my first trip to the municipal trap range - steel only. The company shot back right away to “bring on the steel.” For what it worth, another statement. Maybe I’m coming late or missed the angle on it being bad ammo or bad barrels or some common incompatibility.

That was probably because there was more powder/shot ratio to give more energy to the steel. I used steel in a 20ga hammergun built in 1902 for many years and the barrels were fine.

@@omarabdelrahman3739 I was not the only one with the issue. Steel caused problems in most makers' guns. The problem got better with the coming of other alternative shot.

My goodness. I pay the gentleman an honest compliment for his refined presentation skills. But it doesn’t pass muster with the audience. There’s a term for that. But the effect is to suppress future comments, which only hurts the channel in KZfaq metrics. Sigh.

A well made shotgun, be it Turkish, Japanese or Austrian is worthy of inspection and interest. This Scottish round action appears sharp, however it sells for prices equivalent to a London best gun. Two opposed concepts. I’d buy one at GBP 20,000 but not at current sell prices.
