This guy has the same attitude and approach that I have. I have over 18,000 rides in 3 1/2 yrs. of driving and I do OK with the $$. I drive six or seven days a week if we're in town (we travel a lot). I drive primarly out of boredom however, I also make pretty decent play money. I call it play money because our household expenses are already covered with our retirement and social security so it's not financially a necessity. This guy has a winner approach and if you're new to driving and want to make the $$ then pay attention to what he's saying. I will say that I bought an Elantra hybrid that gets 55 mpg and I've put 85k miles on it in one year (used strictly for Uber) however, it was Uber money that allowed me to buy and make monthly payments on what little is left to pay off. For the record, I am making less in 2023 than I did in 2021 and 2022.

I’ve learned that cleaning your car every day is overrated. It takes up way too much time out of the day to do it every day. Especially if you drive at night time, passengers are drunk half the time and it’s too dark to see if your car is spotless or not. Most days I just shake off the floor mats and make sure there aren’t any obvious spots I should clean. Going to the car wash every day and vacuuming is a waste of timr

It seems like he is doing a lil over $40 an hr but thats with the weekday and weekend quest. 200 rides per week only happens if you are out the 70-80 hrs a week. I just started 3 weeks ago and am making $1,1000 in 27 hrs a week (9 hrs x 3 days). So if I spent the same amount of time he does out there, I can make $3k a week too... I like Sergio, so don't think I'm here to clown on him, but what he fails to point out is that those numbers are from 2021. That year was an anomaly because we where just coming out of the pandemic and there weren't enough drivers so the surges where crazy. It was surging everyday all day long. I did $110k in 2021 only driving 6 hours a day and I didn't even start driving again until March 15th of that year. I also only worked 15 days in December. I'm not sharing my numbers to boast about myself, I'm just sharing to help people understand that 2021 was not a normal year. I like Sergio, but IMO he dropped the ball on this story, because he failed to explain the circumstances of 2021. When/if Sergio does a story on this guy's numbers in 2024 for to 2023, I am certain he won't even make half of what he made in 2021. I'm willing to bet anyone $10k.

@@joedriver2588I’m not even making half the amount I used to make last year. AND I’m driving more! I’m comparing the difference between the 2 years, and I think I can pin it down to the bonuses. Every Sunday and Thursday there was a big spike in earnings, and it’s because I was always doing the weekly/weekend bonuses of ride amounts for bonuses ie 60 rides for (approximately..sometimes more, sometimes less.) 180.00. That, alone, raised my earnings at least 360 dollars more/week. And not to mention the more frequent and higher surges. Because I had incentive to make those bonuses, I made more trips and therefore more $$$. I’m in LA, btw. I’m in denial about the amount I’m making, now!😂Hopefully, something will give…if anyone is down for a strike, count me in!

I drive in Puerto Rico and the rates are very low compare to other places and I would like to know why, the cost of gasoline is the same as on the states and the cost of living is the same. The roads in Puerto Rico are not the best and the distances are not the same, we hit gridlock alot and you can seat in traffic for ever. Uber needs to review the fees and take into consideration all of the above.

I cherry pick to a certain degree and I will tell you why. I am working in the Winston-Salem NC... Winston-Salem as far as land mass goes is a large city but everything is spread out. It is not densely populated like one would see in larger cities like Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, New York. In those cities you probably aren't losing anything by taking every ride. In my area though, I have to pay closer attention. I am seeing more and more trips where I am being asked to drive 15 to 16 miles just to get to the rider. This is not including the mileage I will drive once I pick the rider up. The fare is like $8 or less. I am not going to ever take that ride. I get ride requests to take riders to Charlotte Douglas International which is around 90 miles one way and an hour and a half of driving time. When I first started doing this the fare would be $85 now it's $45. I am not going to take that ride either... My goal is always $200. I always work at least 8 hours everyday. And I usually am around 20 to 25 rides a day. I don't always hit $200. Sometimes it's less. I don't want to cherry pick but I also don't want to get taken advantage of and a $45 fare for a 90 mile trip one way that takes an hour and half to complete is grossly taking advantage of any driver who takes that trip. Yes I can set my app to give rides on the ride back but that does me no good if the rides I am offered means a trip 10 to 15 miles back in the direction of where I just came from and then have to turn around head back north again. You guys are talking a lot about the denser populated areas but not really discussing people who live in more rural areas. I am definitely not lazy. I keep a 4.95 or above star rating and right now it is 4.98...

Hey Sergio, good to see you as always. I have a question regarding Uber‘s latest, opt in or die, update to terms and conditions, and when I go in there and I look at it, it’s Uber’s Latest update to the agreement as of January 6, 2020. Basically what I can read, is they want to be held totally indemnified in case of anything, I think that might be against the law to have you sign in agreement that is not legal I mean I could hold you harmless and if you do something to harm me or part of something that harms others, you’re in the boat with me and I’m not gonna send you a life preserver. Any thoughts on that? Thank you as always Michael from Newport Beach California.

I know this might sound weird but How much does this guy pay in Tax each year - I gross about 90K each year but get all my Quartly back the next year mostly because Uber designs it that way for their benefit but if your doing less miles but doubling your income. What would one pay in Tax ? Is it a gain or loss ?

This is so shocking so just like a lot of you said this is so basic keep your car clean and if you want to make the most or the potential to make the most be available at all times ready to go that can be performed by anybody anywhere any City in any state or any country in the world what it comes down to is luck you can have the majority of people function just like this individual and their be very vast gaps in earnings and that is with having the same overall stats excetera who's better with Rideshare is that you're not as reliant on gratuity so it is much more of a fair process I believe or at least it's setup to be much more fair the fact that these companies that also provide delivery services are using gratuity as a variable to push their profits sway the minds of investors and continue with the false Narrative that their platform is paying out averages of 25 or $30 an hour when in fact if not accounting for all of the expenses involved and them not using gratuity which is mind-blowing and wild that it's allowed them to do this they would be delivery companies would be paying an average of possibly a dollar 75 an hour

The biggest recommendation I can give as a la Uber driver is to buy some tie straps and a tip jar with a handle and attach it specifically to the left side of the passenger headrest. I attach a small light behind the sign I put on a jar in English and Spanish saying tip jar so people can see the jar clearly at night. I also, between the seats put free candy. I also put a big speech that I laminated and attached to the front of the candy holder telling people what a rip-off uber is and how little we get paid and how we depend on tips. And I put a light over the candy and that sign also. If you do those two things you will be amazed, people will be reminded about tipping, people that don't tip will tip out of guilt because they took the Candy. By the way Jolly Rancher five flavor my best choice people get very excited. Add what people will do at the end of the ride is they will waive the money next to your face right between you and the tip jar and say Here's your tip and they'll put it in the tip jar if your tip jar is out of your proximity site, they will not get credit for tipping if you don't see them tip! That's why they want to wave it and then put it in the jar. You will be amazed sometimes you will see a $20 bill in there. If you appreciate this recommendation that's going to make you 10 to $30 a day extra, you can venmo your appreciation to RoyCleansHB. PS I keep the tip jar empty number one to prevent theft and number to the rider will know that I will know that they tipped me because the jar was empty prior to their ride

what is crazy, here in Hawaii drivers are starting to stage in the pick up zone waiting for rides. They don't even drive to the lot. I've even heard they are scooping rides. If you have ever gotten a request and driving to the pick up zone at the airport (oh yeah, this is regarding airport pick ups.) you get a cancel; well another driver probably scooped the ride, offered the rider a cheaper fare. So of course the rider will cancel. It doesn't cost them anything. But Uber looses out as well as the driver even if he or she gets put back at the top of the Q. Has anyone else seen this happen or was told. I was told this happens from the airport security. I always thought it was the taxi guys but I guess it is our partner drivers cheating all the other drivers. Geeez it's getting really cut throat out here. You wanna make 12$ an hour.... work Hawaii. Not always good.
