It’s important to note that hereditary hair changes like hair loss affect hundreds of millions of men across the globe. By age 50, about 85% of men will experience receding or lost hair. This is especially common for middle-aged gentlemen. But, men at almost any age can experience hair loss.
Just because you’re losing your hair, doesn’t mean you can’t have a great haircut that makes you look and feel confident and handsome.
01:25 The Hamilton-Norwood scale: Stage Three
If you’re up to a 3 on the Hamilton-Norwood scale, we want to look at modified classic haircuts. We’ve shares examples of these in our guide to 5 Classic and Timelessly Stylish Haircuts, and they can be applied to men with even moderate hair loss. They will also help you adapt many haircuts to account for thinning hair.
03:12 Stage Four
Even if you’re a four, you still have a fair amount of hair on top of your head. We suggest enjoying it while you still can. It’s like Preston says: “Hair today, gone tomorrow.”
** 03:21 Cut 1. The Ivy League Style
04:44 Stage Five
As you enter stage five on the Hamilton-Norwood scale, you’ll experience more drastic thinning on top. Now, it’s time to focus on haircuts that layer hair to bulk up those thinning follicles.

** 06:23 3. Caesar Cut
07:52 Stage Six
Once you’re up to a six on the scale, you’ve entered the later stages of hair loss. Hair is receding heavily from temples, very thin on top, a bald spot may have grown to create a disconnected patch of hair. Ironically, to get hair looking at the best at this stage, it might be best to take hair away.

09:01 Stage Seven
We’ve reached the final step of hair loss: all or nearly all of your hair is gone on top. You’re left with only your Socratic garland of hair around your back and sides. As mentioned, a buzz cut can still work fine. This is a good option if you want to use the hair on the back and sides to frame your face and head. But, what if you’re feeling bold about going bald?
** 09:23 5. The Shaved Head
As men start to lose their hair they’ll do almost anything to keep it, but for men and gentlemen, it’s probably best to just accept your hair loss.
Rather than chugging hair restoration gummies, take all the fear, frustration, and anxiety you’re feeling and channel it into something positive. Eat better, exercise more, take up a new hobby; feeling happier and healthier will give you the confidence to pull off any hairstyle no matter how much or how little hair you actually have.

After months of lockdown hair I got my girlfriend to buzz it all off. That's when I finally realised how bald I was. Was hard to accept at first. Now I've accepted and embraced it, and it feels great and I'm no longer trying to hide it. Can't wait for the barbers to open though so I can get my sides tidied up!

Great video Kyle. I had a barber unilaterally decide to give me a No. 1 buzz cut in my early teens. I ended up loving it and wore my hair short right up to the point that I lost it. Great to see you pair an Apple Watch with a smart casual outfit. Love your videos man.

On this Hamilton-Norwood scale I am about 3 with really thick hair at least in those places that still have hair; which is actually most of my head. However I have been losing hair since my mid-twenties. I am choosing generally for a modern moptop (not the classical Beatles look) part with a moustache and a 2-2,5cm (1-1,5") long beard. When my hair is a bit longer I'll usually go for slicked back with a part. Since my hair is really thick and I prefer to use a matt wax it won't look shiny or sharp edged. Those sharp edges are bit to youthful/modern for my taste. In the past I have had the beard as long as 20cm (8") reaching my upper chest. (32 y.o.a. at the moment)

As a man who is somewhere around stage 3 or 4, this video is a godsend. It also confirms for me that I am soon enough going to have to embrace baldness and shave it all off. Oh well, maybe it'll help my scalp issues get better

I am a two. I typically had a 3 to 0 faded buzz. Recently I had a short IVY league with significant undercut. 1.5-2" on top. Sides medium fade down to a 0 or 1 guard. I sometimes slick back or part, but usually I just put on my uniform with cap or I wear a woven flat cap, ball cap, or Panama due to weather

Excellent, most awaited video, it is full of content. My request is to please make more videos on hair style. Hair fall is problem. also change of color from black to white is also problem. what if person don't want to color his hair for some or more white hairs, not all men want to color there hairs for few patches of white hairs, what will you recommend in such scenario? In case of balled head not every time beard looks good, what will be alternate style? it will be good topic for next hair style video. Please make more videos on hair style.

In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with a bald look. But a *balding* look is problematic. I'd compare it to puberty for the ageing man. Best get it over with by taking it all off when it becomes noticeable.

@@kenneth7826 I had ‘rona last December. It was akin to having a severe head-cold for 2 days. Definitely not the “deadliest” virus known to mankind. Unlike the side effects of the experimental v@x which in the short-term make people sick for 3-5 days and in the long-term remain ambiguous. That’s not worth the risk. The solution should not be worse than the problem. Ever.
