I dated a vegan a few months ago and her reason for leaving me was "you treat me better than you do animals, you showed me how a man is supposed to treat a woman though your freezer is filled with fish." I had the best vegan for a friend! She took me out to dinner to a place that had a bar and options for the both of us. That means i ate meat in front of her and SHE DIDNT GIBE A FUCK!! A few thoughts. 1. Each time I get lectured to by a vegan, I order an extra egg, slice of bacon, or of piece of meat out of spite. 2. Animals aren't a race. You can't be Racist to animals. 3. Funny how they never address other cultures. Not every culture can survive without the artificial infrastructure that makes vegan lifestyle possible. Say, the ingenious peoples of Africa, the peoples of the Himalayas, various island nations and so on. Human life wouldn't be possible without animal products in many parts of the world. Or what, they expect helicopters to make weekly airdrop soymilk deliveries in Tibet? Only in the developed world can the majority of people be vegan.

As someone who follows a vegan diet but doesn't identify with the cult of veganism, I find that there's something almost xenophobic about stating that people who don't adhere to an exclusively plant-based eating style are morally dubious. Nearly every culture around the world incorporates some form of animal products into their diet -- sure, not in the amounts consumed by the wealthier countries (I'm looking at you, USA), but still. In fact, I recently watched a documentary about a warrior tribe in rural Africa whose diet consists of primarily milk, as well as blood obtained by tapping into the vagus nerve of a living goat (the scene is wild, with the animal howling and blood spraying everywhere). It's important that we remember to occasionally step outside our 1st world bubble and be grateful for the luxury of dietary choice that so few have, rather than condemning people for not adopting our preferred eating patterns. Not everyone has a strong emotional attachment to animals (whether out of necessity or otherwise) and that's perfectly okay! After all, we all have different values, opinions, and beliefs about the world and it's important that we remain respectful of those differences and learn to expand our perception models outside of, say, ego and over self-assuredness. There's more to an individual than what they eat.

I say this with no scientific proof, but I'm starting to think that being vegan eats away at your brain. I base this on the fact that so many vegans have problems with basic human interaction, anger issues, narcissistic tendencies, and a disregard for human life. My favorite thing that I did to a vegan... She was constantly spouting off about what I was eating and the fact that it harmed animals because I had a burger or pizza with pepperoni and cheese. One day I caught her and her vegan friends munching on it bag of Doritos..... I waited to all three of them finished the entire bag and then walked up and said "hmmm I guess you're not vegan anymore?" She looked at me like she didn't know I was talking about... I said "what do you think you've been eating there are cheese products in nacho cheese Doritos so you have been ingesting animal protein which means I'm guessing you're not vegan anymore right?"
