i found that water slowly dripping in your sink very soothing. i would just let it run throughout the video for that litle background aroma.

The beauty lays in simplicity of every single piece that you create. And that's the most difficult thing to achieve. That's a gift, a talent, an artist in action.

Personally experiencing a "wood working" dry spell for the last 3 months but with this highly crafted video of Ishitani's exquisite work, ably abetted by his wife and Shiro, has wetted my appetite for more. Thanks to all three of you. May the New Year bring good health, happiness and more very fine work!!!

In the world we live in with so much anger, frustration, apathy and violence, I am blessed to have a way to escape and see beauty in how you channel your energies to making the world a better place. Thank you for your generosity in sharing these processes of transforming wood in to beautiful furniture with a love affair paying attention to detail something that is lost in the world of mass crap. Thanks, as someone else commented it is a beautiful way to start the day/week/month...

It was lovely to see Shiro inspecting one of the stools, to ensure that your work was up to his standards. The stool obviously was. You need to pay him more, with petting and dog biscuits, where we can see you doing so in your videos.

One important trait of this furniture is a consistent level of detail all over. I was considering the choice to stain the feet. Without it the feet would be plain, and the overall colour of it is plain, so with one change (the staining), it completes the item.
