Isildur was the son of Elendil the Tall, who established the Númenórean Realms in Exile after the Downfall of Númenor. Isildur and his younger brother Anárion jointly rule Gondor until the armies of Sauron sack Minas Ithil. Afterward, Isildur sails north to his father's realm of Arnor, and they form the Last Alliance of Elves and Men with Gil-galad of Lindon. Later, when Sauron is defeated, Isildur claims the Ring of Power for his own.
