I'm sorry Weasle but saying that McGregor is the best fighter at featherweight skill for skill, when he has had favorable match ups for most of his featherweight career, is crazy. Especially over a prime Holloway and prime Volk. And to claim topuria would be his easiest fight. Chad Mendes was literally beating him up and he took the fight on two weeks notice and gassed out. How can you say Topuria would be one of his easier fights?

Ikram had an interview in Russian and he doubted Whitaker didn’t know who he was because he assumes Whitaker watched the fight between Khamzat and Ikram. But some fighters say their coaches are the ones who watch the fights.

@@FromAmateur2Pro yeah i just rewatched that the other night. i think jones won according to the scoring criteria at that time. but gus would have won according to todays criteria. it mostly comes down to round 1. jones had more volume and cage control but gus did far more damage and had the only takedown. round 2 and 3 go to gus. theres no question there. round 4 gets tricky as gus had more volume but jones steals the round with a flurry at the end finally hurting gus. so if you give round one to jones on volume you have to give round 4 to gus on volume. or conversely if you give rd 1 to gus on damage then you have to give round 4 to jones on damage. round 5 is clearly jones although gus showed a lot of grit staying i the fight completely exhausted. either way it should have been 3-2 gus. although i wouldnt say its a robbery according to the criteria at the time, but the 49-46 card was absolutely absurd and lends credibility to the notion that the fight was rigged in jones favor.

His counters and kicking(keeping the opponent at range) is the best part of his game. Sean Strickland exposed his boxing with a literal 1,2. Islam is one of the all-time greats already. Sadly, many won’t appreciate him until he retires. Imagine if he wins his next 3: arman, Oliveira rematch and whomever is WW champ. It’s certainly no easy feat, but it’s also well within his capabilities. That will make him double champ, will give him the record for longest UFC win streak, and also the most title defenses in LW history.

That Tatsuro move was done to Demetrious Johnson too in the Tatsumitsu Wada fight in OneFC RD1 @2:00-2:10. Looked like it almost took DJ's knee out too but he was able to fall to his back. An amazing move to get the fight to the ground.

Alex has done more than 15 title fight wins? don't make me laugh, Alex needs at least 10 title defenses without a loss to even compare to Jones mma career. his middleweight career ended with izzy making him snore, remind me when jones was even close to being finished once, let alone taking a nap on the canvas like alex did by a one dimensional striker. DC couldnt even come close to beating Jones, entirely different careers Jones performed with perfection in comparison to Alex whos already being koed and hes one solid wrestler away from losing again.

@@Thecodmother he was exonerated in all cases by the same organization that does drug testing. first time was male enhancement pills obtained and tested to be tainted with faint traces of estrogen blockers. second and third was non performance enhancing levels of turinabol, suspected from tainted supplements, no evidence of intentionally taking banned substances. these things are all made in the same lab and the levels would be higher if he actually took them willingly.

Jones was far more dominant at that point of his career, he dismantled 6 LHW champions and made it look easy, all in their young 30s in there prime. Even an elite wrestler like DC couldnt handle Jones, DC would ragdoll alex he hasn't had to face a good wrestler yet which will expose his one dimensional striker. No ones filling Jones shoes at LHW for a long time.

My thinking is if Alex Pereira loses they give him an immediate Rematch, they have to the guy has stepped up so many times and to risk everything to take a short notice fight to help the UFC the only move in my mind is give him a title shot next, it could be in Middle weight, LWH or even the Jones fight in HW. any one of those should happen and I hope all of them happen at some point in the next couple years.

And he really was the FIRST ALL-AROUNDER able to get all major skills, in MMA, to be an average level where he could defeat almost every specialist, even if the fight should tilt in favor of one specialist or another, for good stretches of time ---- such as Islam doing stand-up with Dustin for 5 rounds and, while NOT as elite in pure boxing, he's holding his own ---- but ZERO of the fighters GSP defeated was ever going to beat Leon or Usman or Shavkat or JDM.

You're out of your little mind, if you think these serious UFC fighters --- who come close to dropping from exhaustion, making that LAST POUND ---- should fight a guy who is a few inches taller and tens of pounds, naturally, bigger than they are who are not willing, OR NOT ABLE, to at least shed those last 3-5 pounds. Those are the last few pounds that MAKE OR BREAK guys who have nothing else left, in liquids, in their bodies. Tagir is TALLER than Joe Rogan, on a recent interview I saw of him, after he defeated some guy and was interviewed by Joe in the octagon. I don't think Joe Rogan's 5'6" or 5'5" like Joshua Van; I think Rogan is put as 5'8" or 5'9"... so that means Tagir is likely 5'9" or taller, not the 5'7" he's put as. THAT MEANS he's just too big to comfortably cut down to 125, to fight the naturally shorter and smaller guys like Van et al. He should move up to 135... especialy if he's missed a few times before, trying to make 125lb...
