For becoming an Auditor, technical knowledge is not essential. Basically you must have a good understanding of the requirements of the Standards and an analytical approach. Start approaching Certification Bodies who hire people as Auditors and see what is their reaction and what is that they are expecting from you. Accordingly you can decide future course of action. In my opinion it would be better to go for ISO 27001 LA as it would provide a wider perspective.

Some Certification Bodies do take trainees without any job experience but most of them prefer those who have few years of work experience. You can go for TUV Lead Auditor course and try your luck with Certification Bodies to join as Trainee. Lead Auditor qualification may also help you in getting job with food processing Industry. So go ahead and complete the Lead Auditor course. Wish you all the best.

If the company doing audits is authorized by the Certification Body to carry out audits on their behalf and submit the audit report to them, they can issue Certificate based on the audit report. But any company who is providing consultancy for establishing ISO system is not authorized to carry out Certification audit, and on the basis of audits done by them Certification can not be done.

Being a Computer Science Graduate you are quite fit to go for ISO-27001 Lead Auditor Course. Opportunities for gaining experience will come your way once you are qualified as Lead Auditor. Lead Auditor course does not include any auditing. After qualifying as Lead Auditor, you will have to associate yourself with an experienced Lead Auditor as trainee and complete at least 20 audit days of Audits and obtain Audit Logs for the same. After this you may think of joining some Certification Body as Auditor. Looking at your background, it may not be advisable to change your current field of work to try out opportunities as Auditor. This is my personal feeling but you may prove me wrong and change your line of work to Auditing and prove yourself in the new profession as Auditor. So the choice is entirely yours. I prefer FICCI, CII Courses but the Lead Auditor training courses by DNV GL, TUV, BSI and other world renowned bodies are equally good. One can not say that a particular organization is the best.

I strongly suggest that you humbly refuse to carry out the internal audit and concentrate to improve your English language. However, if due to some compulsion you have to carry out audits, then please check with the auditee about training records, quality objective planning, calibration records, drawing control, control of NC products, identification of products and traceability, quality plan and record of its compliance, safety aspects and machine maintenance. Also check whether quality policy is known to the auditee. To start with this should be enough.

In my opinion please try to join some ISO certified company to become part of the ISO system. That will provide you with the necessary practical experience of working for ISO implementation. ISO 9001 is a generic system applicable to all kinds of organizations. It will be useful for you to have a good understanding of this standard, but you need not go for Lead Auditor course at this stage. Gather more experience before you go for Lead Auditor course.

Surely go for it, if your employer bears the cost. It will surely add to your qualification. But going for this course at your own cost is not recommended as you already have adequate knowledge in the field of quality. In case you wish to work as an Auditor for third party audits, then of course you will have to go for Lead Auditor course even at your own cost.

If the on line course is accredited by some organization like IRCA, UK or Quality Council of India then it is OK. After passing Lead Auditor course, you will have to register yourself with IRCA or QCI before you approach Certification Bodies.

I think you need to gain more experience before doing Lead Auditor course. Doing Lead Auditor course at this stage will not get you Auditor's job due to lack of experience. Qualification wise you are fully qualified to go for LA Course, but experience is not adequate.

Please study ISO 22000 2018 on Food safety management and gather more experience before attempting to qualify as Lead Auditor. @@mohammedbasheer8495 ISO 22000 2018 is an international standard issued by ISO whereas fscs 22000 is a standardard managed by private stakeholders. First you must be an expert in ISO 22000 2018 and subsequently look for additional requirements associated with fssc22000. So first of all go for ISO 22000 2018 LA.

My only consideration was that ISO is recognized Standards Body, whereas fssc22000 is evolved by a group of interested organizations having own business interests. As far as I remember, it is not an open book exam. The time period is around 2 hours. You need to score more than 70% marks to qualify.
