THis occupation is extreme. Children in Palestine are not excluded--they are overwhelmingly the victims, whether from violence or from PTSD. The mainstream media does not report on this. Everyone deserves peace, Israelis and Palestinians-- but Palestinians have no agency in this occupation. Homemade weapons are a pathetic response ---one I cannot support--- but that is not the point. Palestinians have been engaging in nonviolent action for decades. TO no avail.

Algeria, Ireland, Vietnam, Libya to name a few did not submit to illegal settlement of their lands, why should the Palestinians. The Palestinians are the original Semites, ancestors of the Canaanites who were in Palestine 1000 years before anyone named Hebrew or Jew cast a shadow.

Here's what a REAL Rabbi said about "rabbi" choader (charleton G/Dov Coder) "Every Shabbos we read first from the Torah, then from what we call the Haftarot. It is mostly a complimentary reading from the Nevi'im to pair with the Torah verse. These are usually cycled through weekly and vary from different sects and communities. But you can see it is imperative that a rabbi know what is the Nevi'im and the books contained therein. It is second nature. For him to not only mistake the book but then name you as a liar for your correction betrays him. I assure you he is no Rabbi."

This is helpful clarification. Israel was founded in 1948, and Palestine in 1988, particularly at the beginning of their creation they were aggressive towards Israel. Many Arabic states were aggressive towards Israel particularly because of the significant territorial gains the made during the 6 day war. For example, Egypt invaded Israel not because of meaningless aggression, but because they wanted to take back the Sinai region which they had lost in the 6 day war (mid 1967) Israel agreed to give it back to Egypt and pulled out of the area. Israel took lebaneses PLO (Palestinian Liberation organisation) bases by force and subsequently invaded Lebanon because the PLO was located there. Israel layed seige to Bayrut, and in the process 10-20,000 Lebanese CIVILIANS were killed. In summer of 2014, Israel killed around 2000 palestinians (July 7 - August 26, 2014) most of whom were civilians. In 2009, the ICC (a major international organisation responsible of justice for crimes against humanity) rejected a claim made by Palestinians because of technicalities relating to their status of state. In more recent years, Palestine has been recognised as a pseudo state, and the icc has decided to look into their claims against Israel in a newer examination, they will also be looking into Palestinian war crimes as well. (E.g the 2014 case when Palestine launched rockets against Israel) The isralian prime minister claimed that “The Palestinian Authority is not a country and therefore it is not the court’s place to carry out an examination like this.” The US has also disagreed with the examination but for the more justified reason, the US believes that further examination will affect peace between Israel and Palestine (they also don’t. Whereas Israel is against it because they don’t believe Palestine is a country. As of 2014, the peace talks between the two governments has collapsed. In conclusion of this, the ICC’s examination for alleged war crimes will stop further violent inauguration. The examination is most likely more beneficial to Palestine as the war crimes against it will be more recognized. I hope the examination helps create peace in the Israeli Palestine conflict.

***** ONCE AGAIN I already DID answer your questions. I provided an example of Palestinians calling themselves Palestinian. ONCE AGAIN the ancestors of the Palestinians built Herod's temple, just because they didn't call themselves Palestinian (although they did call the land Palestine) doesn't erase their history. ONCE AGAIN I give you the Roman Coliseum as an example. Or are you trying to say that because the people who built the Coliseum (and Forum) spoke a different language, worshipped different gods and called themselves a different name that means it is not part of Italian history? Let me guess, once again you'll ignore this and claim I didn't answer the question. Good move, you wouldn't want to look even more foolish.

The first is the one-state solution: offering citizenship to all Palestinians and thus establishing a bi-national democracy within the entire area controlled by Israel. Given the demographics, this would amount to the demise of Israel as a Jewish state; for most Israeli Jews, it is anathema.

Israel has given several chances to Palestinians to become citizens, and in fact many have done so (Israel population is about 20% Arab). Obviously they would have to prove themselves not to be terrorists or a danger to society, but at least the path exists. Despite this, most Palestinians choose not to take this route. This makes me think that the main resistance comes from the Palestinian side and not Israel. Perhaps there is something in the Palestinian cultural mindset that innately resists the existence of an Israeli state.

David Ripley "And as for women and children being killed, no one wants to see that happen, so why don't the Palestinian people not send them to neighboring countries out of harms way?" well, it's because there's a blockade restricting travel. " So why do these people shoot rockets at settlers on their own land, and put their rocket launchers and heavy artillery in schools and hospitals, do they really think that the Israelis care where the attacks come from? " So that's why Christians around Bethlehem are losing their homes in the West Bank? Because of rocket attacks from Gaza? So you think that people- who have limited contact with one another (remember- blockade) should be held responsible for actions they had no part in? Doesn't sound very democratic.

Israeli soldiers evicted several hundred Bedouin from a village in the West Bank on Monday after the Israel Defense Forces declared the area a live-fire training zone. The residents of Wadi al-Maleh, a village mostly inhabited by shepherds in the arid area bordering Jordan, had almost all left their homes by an evening curfew and retreated to neighboring villages, Aref Daraghmeh, a local leader, told Reuters. The displacement coincided with several demolitions of Arab properties in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, which come as the United States is trying to revive stalled peace...Israeli soldiers prevented outsiders, including journalists, from entering the area, saying it was a "closed military zone."

Palestinians underdog copious tears make for good story telling and their PR is brilliant as the suffering, occupied and poor people besieged by a strong mean Israel. They could have had a land next to ours living in security, prosperity and sharing of resources. They chose time and time again war, intifada and terrorism to force us to withdraw, concede and give them all for nothing in return. They twist the facts of history and how tragic and beautiful is their story telling of an oppressed people. The difference is that we have physical, archaeological and proven facts of ancient and modern history to present to the world and the world turns away and believes their bobbe meises which make a much more interesting tale than ours. When we were the underdog without a home and security, the world turned in our favor and voted for us to have a homeland. Arab aka Palestinian aggression for seventy years has been forgotten and our history is disregarded. So we do tell our story, but now we are home and strong and we fight for our existence and the truth of our claim to this land. SIS vs. ISIL....why?! Sinister Difference Between ISIS and ISIL Here is an explanation of the difference between the terms ISIS and ISIL. I have been suspicious of the term ISIL which the administration stubbornly lings to. ISIS = Islamic State of Iraq and Syria . Iraq is to the east of Jordan(shaped like the hatchet) and Syria is to the north. ISIL - Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant . Iraq is still to the east of Jordan, and “the Levant” is a term that comes from “the rising (of the sun, i.e., to the east)” - and is basically the land along the Mediterranean - that includes Lebanon , Israel , and those countries along there. By saying ISIL, you “negate” Israel as its own country and lump it in with the rest of the countries along the Mediterranean - "and Israel sort of disappears (loses its sovereignty) and becomes part of “the Levant ” - which is therefore part of ISIL. If you've wondered, as I have, why all government agencies and especially BARACK HUSEIN OBAMA (BHO) calls it ISIL and even spells it out every time it's used, instead of ISIS as the rest of the world here's the answer. Decoding Obama’s speech reveals some startling revelations. In one press conference after another, when referring to the Muslim terror super-group ISIS, United States President Barack Obama will use the term ISIL, instead of their former name ISIS, or current name Islamic State. Have you ever wondered about that? Here is the difference. What makes up the near exact center of the Muslim Levant? Israel. ISIL stands for the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant. Now, to us Westerners we don’t really make much of a distinction, do we? No, honestly from our perspective it’s all about the same. But how would a Muslim living in the Middle East view it? Just what is the Levant anyway? Let’s take a look. The geographical term LEVANT refers to a multi-nation region in the Middle East. It’s a land bridge between Turkey to the north and Egypt to the south. If you look on a map, however, in the near exact middle of the nations that comprise the Levant , guess what you see? Come on, guess! It’s Israel. When Barack Obama refers over and over to the Islamic State as ISIL, he is sending a message to Muslims all over the Middle East, that he personally does not recognize Israel as a sovereign nation, but as territory belonging to the Islamic State. Now you know why Obama says that he has no plan, no goal, and no stated aim for dealing with ISIS. But he does have a plan, and it’s a really nasty, diabolical one. Obama’s plan is to drag his feet for as long as he can, doing only the bare minimum that Congress forces him to do. His plan to buy ISIS as much time as possible to make as many gains as they can. Listen as Obama and his press secretary and the spokesperson for the State Department and his Joint Chiefs of Staff painstakingly spells out the letters I-S-I-L so there is no doubt in your mind: And it’s working. The Islamic State has garnered millions of dollars, a vast cache of weapons, and in their latest foray have captured Syrian fighter jets and now 12 commercial passenger planes. With each passing day that Obama fulfills his stated aim of doing nothing, the Islamic State grows by leaps and bounds. The ultimate goal, of course, has not changed and will never change. The ultimate goal is the destruction of Israel. Now you know a little bit more about why Obama chooses his words so carefully.

"The German company Heidelberg Cement operates a quarry in the Israeli-occupied West Bank where residents of the Palestinian village of Zawiya once farmed. Journalist Azmi Abdel Karim Shuqeir said his extended family grew lentils, fava beans, wheat and sesame on the land. In 1982, Israeli bulldozers cleared a portion of the land, he said. Israeli authorities declared it a closed military zone, but soon converted part of it into a gravel quarry. Lawsuits filed in Israeli courts did not stop this or the subsequent confiscation of adjacent plots of land that allowed the quarry to expand. Since around 2004, Zawiya has been cut off from the quarry area by the wall, or separation barrier"

"Overall, at least six Palestinians have died in Israeli attacks on the Occupied Territories this week. The casualties include a Palestinian judge living in Jordan who was fatally shot while crossing the border to visit his comatose daughter. Israel says the victim was fired on after he tried to seize a soldier’s weapon. A witness, however, claims he was shot after shoving a soldier who had forced him to the ground. Israel has expressed "regret" for the incident but has refused to apologize. Another victim was a male Palestinian teen shot by a soldier at point-blank range."

The Palestinian Authority was found guilty of inciting terror attacks that led to the deaths of US citizens in Israel during the Second Intifada. A landmark victory for Israel! The winning legal team outside the Manhattan courtroom: Nitzana Darshan-Leitner (C) and Kent Yalowitz (2L). (Photo: Facebook) Kent Yalowitz, lead prosecuting attorney of a landmark trial against Palestinian terror, proudly declared that “the Palestinian Authority and the PLO have been found liable by an American jury for six heinous terrorist attacks that killed and injured hundreds of civilians.” The Israel Law Center, an Israel-based legal rights organization (known as Shurat Hadin in Hebrew), represented 11 families that took the Palestinian Authority to court for inciting, planning and carrying out six terror attacks that killed American citizens in Israel during the Second Intifada (2000-2004). Following the landmark decision by a US court, Shurat Hadin’s director, Nitsana Darshan-Leitner, and attorney Kent Yalowitz were elated with the jury’s verdict. Darshan-Leitner declared on Facebook: “BREAKING: Palestinian Authority & Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) FOUND GUILTY ON EVERY COUNT!” “We are truly grateful that an American court has heard the evidence against the Palestinian Authority and the PLO and determined that suicide terrorism was indeed their official policy during the Second Intifada,” Darshan-Leitner stated. “The defendants have already been boasting that they will appeal the decision and we will never collect on the judgment. We will not allow them to make a mockery of the US court process, however, and we continue to pursue them until it is paid in full.” “If the PA and PLO have the funds to pay the families of the suicide bombers each month, then they have the money to pay these victims of Palestinian terrorism.” Yalowitz explained: “If you have a policy that says [that] if you commit a terrorist act, you keep your job,” get a promotion and get paid while you’re in jail, “that says something about who you are and what you believe in,” theJerusalem Post reports. He hoped that “after years of difficult and emotional effort, we secured for the families today a small measure of justice.” A large sum of $218.5 million in damages was awarded to the victims. According to applicable anti-terrorism laws, this amount will likely be tripled to a whopping sum of over $655 million. Darshan-Leitner said “This historic verdict against the defendants will not bring back these families’ loved ones nor heal the physical and psychological wounds inflicted upon them but it truly is an important measure of justice and closure for them after their long years of tragic suffering and pain.” This landmark verdict will likely have a major impact on the Palestinian Authority’s effort to prosecute Israel for alleged war crimes in the International Criminal Court (ICC). The Israeli government has already indicated that it intends to use the same court to charge the Palestinian Authority with terrorism and crimes against humanity. Upon hearing the verdict, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said: “The US federal court decision determines the responsibility of the Palestinian Authority for the murderous terrorist attacks of the previous decade. Instead of drawing the requisite lesson, the Palestinian Authority is advancing steps that endanger regional stability such as the hypocritical application to the International Criminal Court even as it is allied with the Hamas terrorist organization. We expect the responsible elements in the international community to continue to punish those who support terrorism just as the US federal court has done and to back the countries that are fighting terrorism. Today as well we remember the families that lost their loved ones; our heart is with them and there is no justice that can console them.” By: United with Israel Staff Sign the Petition to Stop Funding the Palestinian Authority The Palestinian Authority openly supports and encourages terror attacks against the citizens of Israel. Terrorist groups answer this call with a bloodthirsty enthusiasm. If there was any doubt before, it has been completely eliminated this past month, as we have witnessed the most horrific terror attacks against Israelis with full support from the PA. It is an outrage that the United States continues to fund the PA. They are funding terror - plain and simple. Join us in demanding that the US stops funding Palestinian terror

Alan Dershowitz on this Year's Palestinian Nakba March Posted: 2016-05-15 12:09:27 Share to FacebookShare to TwitterShare to LinkedInShare to Gmail Share on FacebookShare on Twitter Alan Dershowitz, the famed Criminal and civil liberties lawyer has spoken often about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. He recently gave a talk about the topic at several universities, on the day. The Palestinian Nakba was a direct result of the refusal of the Palestinian and Arab leadership to accept the two state solution offered by the United Nations in 1947-48. The UN divided what remained of Palestine, after Trans-Jordan was carved out of it, into two states of roughly equal size (The Israelis got slightly more actual land, but the Palestinians got considerably more arable land). Israel would control territories in which Jews were a majority, while the Palestinians would control territories in which Arabs were a majority. Israel accepted the partition and declared statehood. Palestinians rejected statehood and attacked Israel with the help of all the surrounding Arab countries. Dershowitz asks why the Nakba is still celebrated, though in Israel it was mainly celebrated by a younger crowd and in lower numbers. Dershowitz said, “The Germans don’t celebrate the catastrophe resulting from their invasion of Poland. Japanese do not celebrate their catastrophe resulting from the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Why do Palestinians celebrate their catastrophe resulting from the Arab attack against Israel?” In many universities in America this “self-inflicted wound” is celebrated as a reminder of the “horrors” done to the Palestinian people. Dershowitz says, “On these and other campuses anti-Israel students commemorate the Palestinian Nakba. They call this the Day of Catastrophe on which the Palestinians were deprived of their homeland and were made refugees from their birthplace. They compare their catastrophe to the Holocaust.” He adds, “Perhaps out of deference to the suffering of the Palestinian people, Pro-Israel students generally say nothing in response to these Nakba commemorations. The impression is thus created that everyone agrees that this was indeed a catastrophe inflicted by Israel on the Palestinians. The time has come to reply to this canard and to place it in its historical context.”

Amnesty report Israeli war crimes killing Palestinian civilians Samir’s story is one of several harrowing accounts of killings of Palestinian civilians told in a report “Trigger-happy“, published Thursday by Amnesty International. The international human rights organisation said the evidence suggests Samir’s death was an extra-judicial execution, which constitutes a war crime under international law. The report identifies a pattern of behaviour by Israeli soldiers of shooting live ammunition at unarmed Palestinians, sometimes as they are fleeing.

Official Israel often rightly laments the absence of “context” in media reports on its conflict with the Palestinians. Official Israel would like every report from Gaza to include references to the fact that Israel dismantled all its settlements and removed all its military forces from the Strip in 2005, and withdrew to the pre-1967, purportedly undisputed lines; that Hamas seized power in Gaza from the relatively moderate Mahmoud Abbas in 2007, killing many Palestinians in the process; that Hamas is avowedly committed to the destruction of Israel (its guiding charter asserts that Israel, “by virtue of its being Jewish and of having a Jewish population, defies Islam and the Muslims”); and that Hamas uses its control of Gaza to wage war on Israel by any and all means, including by insidiously placing Gazans in harm’s way, secure in the knowledge that too many people worldwide will blame Israel when that harm befalls them. But journalists typically only have a couple of minutes or a few hundred words to cover a news story, and even if there is the will, there’s insufficient time or space for too much context. The UNHRC inquiry team, however, had all the time and space it needed. It produced a 284-page report. And yet, in all that verbiage, it neglected to detail precisely how it was that Hamas came to power in Gaza, and what it is that Hamas stands for. It chose not to highlight Hamas’s strategic goal of destroying Israel. It mixed up cause and effect in describing the security blockade as “strangling the economy in Gaza and [as having] imposed severe restrictions on the rights of the Palestinians,” as though it is the blockade that has radicalized Gaza, rather than having been introduced as an attempted defensive measure by Israel (and Egypt) against the import of weaponry by Hamas.

Bennett Ruda originally shared: How Israel is Rewriting the Future of Cybersecurity and Creating the Next Silicon Valley +Jason Hiner, +TechRepublic Since the rise of the personal computer, Israel has been quietly making major contributions to the technologies that are transforming humanity and giving people tools to solve age-old problems in powerful and exciting news ways. And, these contributions to the global technology ecosystem have accelerated in the past two decades. Israel was one of the progenitors of the PC revolution in the 1980s when Intel's lab in Haifa designed the 8088 chip that powered the original IBM PC. Intel's Israeli team later created the Pentium chip that helped spread PC computing to the masses. In the middle of the last decade, Intel's innovators in Israel pushed past objections from their U.S. counterparts and got the company to focus on power-conservation rather than raw speed and delivered the Centrino chip that fueled the growth of laptops. Then the Israelis pioneered multi-core processors to deliver Intel's groundbreaking Core product line that turned Intel around at one of its most difficult moments. Now, it's the Israeli team at Intel that is leading the company's charge into mobile processors. The world's most important tech companies run Israeli research centers, including Cisco, Microsoft, Google, Apple, IBM, Oracle, SAP, EMC, Motorola, HP, Facebook, and eBay. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer famously said that Microsoft was an Israeli company almost as much as an American company since Microsoft has so many workers in Israel and the work they are doing is so important to the company's future. Israel has been dubbed "The Startup Nation" because it has the highest density of startups per capita in the world-one for every 1,844 citizens (or 2.5 times the U.S. rate). More Israeli companies are listed on the NASDAQ than from all European companies combined. One thing that is not known by most of the people is that what differed israel from other countries was that it was a country open for travelers and outsiders to come in and visit, it served as a passage for traders but then jews from egypt came in and started to settle the place as if the land was theirs, since according to their scriptures it was. Every kind of people held feelings and assets on the land but jews started to organize themselves to hold control of it and then they created the boundaries and barred everyone trying to enter it. See that today we learn about the exodus from the perspective of the jews and the way it is tolds gives the impression that they were migrating to an empty space. Jews at first entered the land without having to battle as the inhabitants didn t have the notion of a nation in that place however the jews wanted that land to belong to the jews in a religious sense so everyone there should be converted into the jewish faith. Many rejected the convertion and these are the ones living in Palestina mainly and other surrounding countries. Many jews living in israel were arabs before converting to judaism to remain in the land. Arabs and jews lived peacefully in the region for a quite long time and just before the second world war many tyrants emerged with the promisse of taking israel back to the arabs that now were taught that the land was sacred and theirs. It was politics that allowed the arabs to claim the land theirs and israel has 2 versions - religious version - it was given to the jews by god ( this is supported by the christians ) political - before the arrival of the jews no one had claimed to rule the land therefore once the state of israel was recognized and a central government established it has the right to deny control or concessions to those who long ago owned land in israel. Those who really hate and persecute the jews are the arab elite since most of them are the descendants of the pharaohs and emperors who enslaved the jews, the contradiction is that the best educated and prosperous community in israel is composed of christian arabs who love the land and live in places meant for christians therefore it is more about muslims against jews than it is arabs against jews

"I listed 105 outposts built between 1995 and March 2005. The findings of my report were that the entity behind the establishment of the outposts was the state of Israel, acting behind the government’s back, illegally, but with the involvement of various government ministries, settlers, local councils in the territories. They are the ones that used state funds to build those outposts, and all of this was done illegally. The illegality was institutionalized. The government couldn’t decide on the establishment of new settlements, because the Americans were given verbal commitments, and the prime minister didn’t want to violate them. But there was still the desire to build new settlements, so they found a system whereby the government is "unaware" that settlements are being built with government funds." And who said this? Some leftist organization? Nope...Talia Sasson, the former head of the Israeli State Prosecution Criminal Department, explaining the findings of an official Israeli government report on the settlements.

Not many people really understand exactly why we Jews keep to the status quo on the Temple Mound - it is not because of fear of Muslim hysterical fury when a little old Jew mumbles a few prayers in the courtyard, but because our Temple is much too Holy even for us to pray there. "Since the sanctity of the site has never ended, it is forbidden to enter the Temple Mount until the Temple is built." If we Jews are considered not pure enough to enter our own Temple, imagine what HaShem thinks about Islamists stepping on our holy ground. "What is hidden, shall be revealed" So it certainly never was, the fear of the Muslims who keep us out and who take advantage and exploit our Rabbi's commandments; but when the time is right and our Temple is revealed, our Priests will enter the Holy of the Holies and the world will then understand. Michardav, well nice to see that you haven't been kicked off this YT yet.....lolol. There could have been a Palestinian entity many times...starting with the acceptance of UN Resolution 181 calling for a two state solution. It was accepted by Israel but not by the Arabs.

RR Sandler So Steve aka Dov Coder kicked me off his site. I guess proving you guy's consistent liars was getting too trying. So you're saying Palestinians should've accepted UN 181? So Israel should've accepted UN 194? Let me guess you'll say "no" like the hypocrite you are. If Zionist liked UN 181 so much why did they assassinate the UN negotiator who basically offered the same deal? And I thought you were a proponent of democracy? You do know that Zionists refused to accept the representational democracy that Palestine was to be?

Facts you may not notice or understand about the rebuilding of Gaza... Arutz Sheva tells you - “Why Hasn’t Gaza been rebuilt by Batya Medad. There's a very simple reason why Gaza hasn't been rebuilt since last summer's war and the war before that and the war before that ad nausea. Rebuilding isn't among the priorities of the Hamas rulers of Gaza. It doesn't matter how much aid comes in from the United Nations or European countries and NGOs. Those bombed out buildings are so much more photogenic and pitiful. The cement and other building supplies that Israel keeps letting in is used for the tunnels which are part of the terrorist infrastructure to destroy Israel, Hamas, ignoring its damaged buildings in Gaza, clearly has sufficient funds (supplied by Qatar and Turkey) to rebuild its attack tunnels and replenish its rocket arsenal - while it exports its terrorism to us on the West Bank, with the goal of toppling the Palestinian Authority. It remains unclear why Americans remain silent in the face of Qatar’s continuing activity as a global terrorism-sponsoring state. (Behind the News in Israel) That's the truth. But the world prefers the lie and the myth that the Gazans suffer because of Israel, because of the so call "occupation," sic. The scenes which are shown to the world are a very small percentage of Gaza in a neighborhood called Shuja'iyya - the rest of Gaza was untouched. Not worth mentioning the mantra that Hamas used these before bombed out residential areas as launch sites for their rockets; or UNRWA storing and admitting using UNRWA schools and institutions to store and launch missiles. It does take time until people who are ignorant of the facts and of Hamas Charter, or Hamas unhealthy outlook on death and not on life start to understand. We shall not worry as Islamists are definitely promoting their agenda with their terrorist attacks in decaying Europe (Spain the latest target in Egypt) after France, England and other uninformed mad cows rioting in the street, only against Israel. If it was not so sad, we could laugh at the West but history is repeating itself right under their own noses. May whatever Deity they believe in, have mercy on them.

Allan Richards shared: Rafael Barak: What Israel has accomplished Reprint Republish Online Republish Offline Reprint Rafael Barak, Special to National Post | May 12, 2016 | Last Updated: May 12 12:01 AM ET More from Special to National Post Today, as Israel marks 68 years of independence, we celebrate the story of how a tiny nation turned its adversity into its competitive advantage. Geography has never been in Israel’s favour. Not only are we surrounded by enemies, we are also a small country, over half of which is a desert, with few natural resources and no regional trading partners. This unique experience, as our region’s only democratic country living in a state of perpetual threat, has fostered one of the world’s most resilient and surprisingly optimistic people, who always have an eye to a better future. Although much ink has been spilled on the miracle of our physical survival, the history of modern Israel is also a social and economic miracle. Few countries have experienced such a dramatic shift over a relatively short period of time. Since our birth in 1948, our population has grown more than tenfold (600,000 to 8.2 million) and 68-fold in GDP ($4.5 billion to $305 billion). We began as a developing country barely able to feed and house Jewish refugees from war-torn Europe and those forced to flee their homes in Arab lands. Out of necessity, we overcame this adversity through ingenuity, stubborn determination and technological innovation. Nothing exemplifies this dogged perseverance better than our achievements with water. In May 1939, at the dawn of Nazi Germany’s advance throughout Europe and when the Jewish community in present-day Israel was under British rule, colonial officials claimed that Jews must be restricted from returning to their national homeland because of inadequate water resources. Nonetheless, Israeli leaders were not deterred and began work on a sophisticated national water plan to prove the British wrong.

Just a paragraph from "Beyond the Cusp" by Brian Saunders - read the whole thing.. Bet Castile won't.... There is something almost poetic about what is coming down the pike for the Europeans who have been riding Israel about their reaction to such violence from the Arab Palestinians. There has been the accusation of Israel as racist, though Israel has Arabs, Muslims, Christians, Druze, Ethiopians, and the Menashe from India included in the IDF and all other aspects of society. There has been Europeans accusing Israel of being an Apartheid State which is even more ridiculous than the charge of racism and for much the same reasoning. Then there have been the claims that Israel has been practicing genocide against the Arab Palestinians but as they have gone from less than three-quarters of a million to over five million in numbers the Israelis have been doing one horrific job and have probably the worst efficiency rating of any group in actually carrying out genocide. Trust that the Israeli Defense Force is far too competent to have such disastrous results if their efforts really were to genocidally eliminate the Arab Palestinians. The idea to boycott any business beyond the Green Line because they are profiteering on Arab Palestinian lands actually works against those very Arab Palestinians as many are employed by those companies who the Europeans are boycotting. Who do you think will lose their jobs if those companies all relocated to within the Green Line and many of their Arab Palestinian employees having no pass to enter within the Green Line would be left without employment. Further, the Israeli companies provide the second highest paying positions, higher paying than even the Arab Palestinian Security Forces and only lower than the payments made to terrorist’s families who are in Israeli prisons for murdering more Israelis. If the aim was to help the Arab Palestinians and prove that peace does have a chance, then the Europeans would be supporting and encouraging such enterprises. But despite the facts on the ground, we have heard and read stories from the media in Europe and the United States where the stories often begin with the shooting death of an Arab Palestinian for undetermined reason, they were simply shot dead leaving a wife, kids, heartbroken parents, a sick brother or sister needing an operation or any humanizing softening of the story making their case one for sympathy and buried somewhere within the story it is mentioned that the now victim of horrific cruelty by Israeli police, IDF or vigilante overzealous citizens had just previous to their death been shooting, running-over, stabbing or hacking Israeli civilians at a bus stop, light rail station or other gathering place where the potential for carnage was higher right before being shot and was only shot to end their killing spree.

Many Americans now realize that in doing so, we routinely find ourselves on the wrong side and often alone in supporting and/or covering for the most egregious of Israeli misdeeds, usually at significant expense to our standing. With the dwindling pool of the uninformed growing smaller by the day, things are indeed looking up, as AIPAC's ability to ply its myths gets tougher and tougher.

Esther Cohen originally shared to Jewish State of Israel (Israel/Zionism): Today, Israel celebrates 48 years since the reunification of Jerusalem during 1967’s Six Day War. The day was declared a religious holiday by the Chief Rabbinate in recognition of the miracles that took place during the war. In 1948, the Jordanians conquered the eastern part of Jerusalem, including its Old City, forcibly expelling its Jewish residents. For the next 19 years, Jews were denied access to the Western Wall (Kotel), one of the Jewish nation’s most holy prayer sites. The Jordanians destroyed 48 of the 49 historic synagogues within the Old City and desecrated ancient graves located on the Mount of Olives by using them as latrines. In 1967, Israeli paratroopers liberated the eastern half of the city, making their way to the Kotel at the base of the Temple Mount. Their experiences have inspired song and literature, and a photograph of forces standing at the Wall, taken mere hours later, is one of the city’s most famous images. michardav Idiot post as usual. Who were the rulers of the land at the time? In one of your many obtuse posts according to you, they were Roman Palestinians - remember when you stupidly answered the 13 questions and we all had a good laugh. If the Chinese had been the rulers at the time of the crucifixion , would you not presume that Chinese lettering would have appeared on Jesus's cross. If you touch yourself, do you feel a fool???

Alexis X No sir YOU said they were Romans based on their names, at which point I embarrassed you by pointing out Palestinians (who were mostly Christian having converted willingly or otherwise) who many of whom adopted Roman and even Greek names. "If the Chinese had been the rulers at the time of the crucifixion , would you not presume that Chinese lettering would have appeared on Jesus's cross. ' Totally agree thanks for backing me up- the fact that there was no Arab writing (assuming the crucifixion happened the way as recorded or even at all) means nothing.
