Israel's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Danny Ayalon explains the historical facts relating to the Israeli Palestinian conflict. The video explains that the reason there is no successful peace process is because of decades of Palestinian and Arab recalcitrance and the main reason for the conflict is not Israel's presence in the West Bank, but successive Palestinian leaders resistance to Jewish sovereignty.

Danny Ayalon was born in Tel Aviv in 1955, to Lily Ellon, a Polish Jew who immigrated to Mandatory Palestine in 1937, and Rafael Ayalon, an Algerian Jew who immigrated before the establishment of Israel in 1948. Both of his parents fought in the 1948 Palestinians-Settlers War.

You're right, Charles. Sadly, many people can't face the simple truth that Mr. Ayalon is stating. Many seem determined to condemn & demonize Israel in the face of all rational thought. There's something about this conflict which makes people lose their minds.

Well I don't know if this peace theory works in large scale, but in small scale base on my personal experience, it kind of work. The 3 rules are: 1. Resist commiting revenge, I know that it is hard for some people to do, but you should try to stop yourself from doing it 2. Other nice things you are accepted to do, you do 3. Pray to god that things don't get worst

"The Israeli government has authorized a new round of settlement construction in the occupied West Bank. michardav I can answer that question for you: If your neighbor is crossing over to your yard, and other yards, and blows up your family in the name of Jihad, and this goes on intensely between 2001-2006, and 250 people on the block, men, women, and children are blown to bits, and that same neighbor has ratified declarations to slaughter everyone on the block, then yes, you have not only a right to build a "Wall" to protect the families on the block, but you also have a right to "retaliate" and defend yourself.
@michardav
@michardav 10 жыл бұрын
Jim Lang So you're saying that's what the Palestinian should have done with the Zionist terrorists...hmm you might have a point there. "you have not only a right to build a "Wall" to protect the families on the block," And yet that doesn't explain the many settlements and settlers on the PALESTINIAN side of the wall!

The so called Palestinians did not identify themselves as such before 1964. During and prior to the war in 1948 Palestinians were Jews who lived under the British Mandate in the area the British referred to as Palestine's West Bank. In any case the Arabs were not kicked out of their homes, but rather told to leave by the Arab League, pending the destruction of Israel (they are still waiting). Uneducated people do not have the vocabulary to express themselves without using irrelevant swear words -- like you.

Chana Koren no, uneducated people speak without investigating and talk about imaginary "facts" that has no proof, in 1964 the PLO or Fateh was established, but the people were always known as Palestinians, the jews that were in Palestine before 1948, were mostly refugees from Europe, that refuge to Palestine, and the naive Palestinians took them in, until they stabbed them in the back in 1948, thousands of Palestinians were ethnically cleansed from their homes by ISRAEL, and i assume you as an "educated" person want proof, here you go, a testimony of an Israeli veteran who fought in 1948 /watch?v=KS4OXOom_vk

I think this whole conflict is stupid. This video is very biased to the Israeli plight, but are all the facts presented. I understand that the nation of Palestine has no record of history as a nation recognized by the world, but does Israel have the right to treat people a certain way just for the "safety" of its people and interests. I think that Israel may be as bad as the people they escaped because they are willing to mistreat innocent people. The same goes for the Palestinians. Just get the stupid argument over by admitting that they have both had parts to play in this conflict escalating to the point it is and try to compromise to a certain point. COME ON PEOPLE. We are living in a new world, but it doesn't mean we have to convert to brutish tactics to get what we want or need.

There was no record, (recognised by the rest of the world), of many African civilisations, before European racists, invaded their lands, with the same excuse. That DOES NOT MEAN, those civilisations DID NOT EXIST. So did the racist scum have a right to occupy those lands ?

John Somebody But the argument is not based towards these examples that you are citing. There are different circumstances and protocol that are surrounding the creation of the separate Israel and Palestinian state that did not exist in the time that you are expounding on. If you want to make a more valid argument then you need to use another source to back your idea.

Ikaika Stephens-Ticman No, , , , YOUR arguement, or one which suits YOUR purposes, may not be, "based towards these examples". But they remain core to the issue, of why Palestinians have A NEED, AND A RIGHT, to resist genocidal thieves

John Somebody But on what grounds are they willing to base their claims upon. It would be futile to base it on religion because their religions both coincide to that particular sector of the world. I'm just asking on what grounds would peace talks be able to actually take place.

The, "false narrative", comes from someone pretending to have identified a, "false narrative", while being unable to identify one, from the person accused, by the gaslighting, wriggling piece of racist filth who tries to defend a nation state which depends on racially motivated murder, (aka genocide), for an artificial racist majority. he talking about west bank as the main conflict, ignoring that establising the state of Israel in 1948 is the main one and the main cause of the later conflicts i.e. the Palestinians libration organisation. The conflict is not about the west bank !! lol the conflict is about Israel taking Palestine (known as Israel now) from the Palestinians, so get your facts right, Gaza and the west bank are the only land left for the Palestinians and this lair d**k head want us to believe that the Palestinians, who live in the west bank, have started the conflict with Israel lol that's a joke

You do realize all the Jews really did was to go terraforming the desert and bring in immigrants who claimed to be this new race called to Palestinian people. Show me a reference to them before 1900, other than the PURELY GEOGRAPHICAL term used by the romans to exterminate Jewish identity. They only came to be employed by Jews, the region was having the population decline before the Jews bought the land from absentee landlords at outrageous prices. And they apparently have not read evil imperialism 101, or they never would have considered giving up the Sinai peninsula to a nation who they had brought to it's knees and as expected is helping Hamas launch rockets at them. They also have given equal rights to Arabs and everyone else, an Arab Judge sentenced a former prime minister for Pete's sake. The argument should stop there.

There was an research going on in 2001 why it failed and what was wrong: "not a single scrap of paper for the entire period from January to September 1993-precisely the period of the back channel talks". Waage has written that, "Had the missing documents been accessible, there seems no doubt they would have shown the extent to which the Oslo process was conducted on Israel's premises, with Norway acting as Israel's helpful errand boy.

If you start kicking out those who now have an internationally established state on these territories, then this state has every moral right to defend itself. I don't know what Albert's reference is (it is hard to follow a conversation where your counterpart's replies have been marked as spam), but I think his reference was modern history as well. In case you haven't noticed, in 1948 the State of Israel was established and immediately invaded by 5 Arab states.

Late in 1940, Lehi, having identified a common interest between the intentions of the new German order and Jewish national aspirations, proposed forming an alliance in World War II with Nazi Germany. It offered assistance in transferring the Jews of Europe to Palestine, in return for Germany's help in expelling Britain from Mandatory Palestine.

It was actually related to self defense because of Egypt's build up and intention in the army. Israel has been involved before in war so Israel wanted to make sure they stayed super power in the region to prevent Arab countries having a go at Israel again.

I am not either Palestinian or jew , but I'd like someone like you would explain me , ¿ why between 1949 and 1967 , the palestinian state was not created , and , why nobody protested against the Jordanian occupation over the west Bank and Egipt's one over Gaza.

Danny I agree with a lot of things you are saying and there has been mistakes on both sides however if currently Israel gives back the West Bank with 1967 borders there will be a peace agreement for sure. Israel currently holds more then 200 settlements in West Bank and refuses to withdraw with the excuse that these are new realities on the ground. The starting point should be 1967 borders with minor swaps.

Bibi did freeze settlement construction, also a French court this week ruled against the PA, by saying that Israli settlements are not illegal and they are breaking no international law.

The most interesting element of the doctrinal framework is the notion of "peace process" itself. That the U.S. and its Israeli partner have always sought peace is not in question: everyone seeks peace, even Hitler, Stalin, and Attila the Hun. The question is: what kind of peace? In U.S. discourse, the term "peace process" is conventionally used to refer to whatever the U.S. government happens to be doing, often undermining diplomatic efforts. That is dramatically true in the present case. For 25 years, the U.S. has stood virtually alone in rejecting two basic principles of the international consensus on a peace settlement: that Israel withdraw from the occupied territories in exchange for peace, and (from the mid 1970s) that Palestinian national rights be recognized in the West Bank and Gaza. On both issues, the U.S. won hands down, a victory for the rule of force that perhaps should inspire "Awe," enhanced still further by the doctrinal victory that accompanies it.

***** In 1931 the Irgun Zvai Leumi17 (National Military Organization) was founded in Jerusalem. It was led by Avaraham Tehomi and Advocated armed Jewish insurrection against the British and war against Palestinian Arabs. Menachem Begin,18 the former prime minister of the theocratic Zionist state of Israel, became the leader of this terrorist organization in 1943. In 1946 the Irgun, commanded by Begin bombed the King David Hotel in Jerusalem where the British offices were. This attack killed 91 people; 17 of whom were Jews. Another terrorist act perpetrated by the Irgun was the bombing of the British Embassy in Rome. The British regarded Menachem Begin as the primary Zionist terrorist and posted in the 1940s a reward of £100,000 pounds sterling for his capture. During the Zionist Organization's collaboration with the Nazis, Begin was instrumental in moving East European Jews confined in concentration camps out of Poland via Cyprus and illegally into Palestine. In the course of history, Begin (1977-1983) was preceded as prime minister by other Zionists - David Ben-Gurion (1948-1953 and 1955-1963), Moshe Sharett (1954-1955), Levi Eshkol (1963-1969) and Golda Meir (1969-1974). Golda was born in the Ukraine and raised in Milwaukee, WI. Begin was succeeded by Yitzhak Shamir (1983-1984 and 1986-1992), Yitzhak Rabin (1974-1977 and 1992-1995). During his second term as prime minister, Rabin was assassinated by an Israeli extremist. Rabin was followed by Shim'on Peres (1984-1986 and 1995-1996), Benjamin Netanyahu (1996-1999), and Ehud Barak (1999-2001). Ariel Sharon, the butcher who brutally oversaw the 1983 massacre of hundreds of Palestinians living in Sabra and Shatila - two Beirut refugee camps - by Lebanese Christian militiamen (Phalangists) under Israeli command, is elected prime minister in 2001. All of these prime ministers were and the living still are committed to the militant creation and preservation of the Jewish state even if they have to resort to murder, crimes against humanity, and state terrorism.

In other words, circumcised penises turn people into a "Jew" to make "Aliya" and displace Palestinians from their lands. Israel will be dismantled soon. 65% of Isrealis have DUAL citizenship and that speaks by itself!!!

Dmitry Ignatiev You buy Zionist propaganda! Israel exists thanks to Hitler and his agreement with Zionists to transfer self-style European Jews to PALESTINE!!! Most "Jews" refused to go to Palestine and the USA shut the door to force them back to the Middle East. Those "Jews" did not feel any connection to the "Land" because they were converts to Judaism.

what belongings? "There are no differences between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. We are all part of one nation. It is only for political reasons that we carefully underline our Palestinian identity... yes, the existence of a separate Palestinian identity serves only tactical purposes. The founding of a Palestinian state is a new tool in the continuing battle against Israel". - Zuhair Muhsin, military commander of the PLO and member of the PLO Executive Council -
