Rich Siegel, a Jewish activist who organized a protest against an Israeli real estate sale in his hometown of Teaneck New Jersey, and Remo Ibrahim, a Palestinian activist who helped organize a protest against an Israeli real estate sale at an LA synagogue explain why they took part in the protests. Remo also shares the violence he experienced and witnessed at the protest which has been unfairly smeared as antisemitic by Joe Biden, California Governor Gavin Newsom and LA mayor Karen Bass. Remo Ibrahim is an organizer with the Palestinian Youth Movement, LAOCIE chapter (@palestinianyouthmovement, @pymlaocie). He is committed to the struggle for Palestinian liberation, and to confronting Zionism and white supremacy wherever it appears.
Rich Siegel is a musician and activist. Raised in what he calls “the cult of atheistic Zionism posing as Judaism”, in his youth Rich was very involved as a supporter of Israel, notably as a teenage Zionist youth group president. He then lived in Israel in his 20’s working as a pianist in a luxury hotel. Rich’s change of heart began as a spiritual awakening, by which he came to see that Jewish tribal identity and the state of Israel were worshipped as idols. Then he became acquainted with Zionism’s crimes against humanity, which contradicted the Zionist narrative he grew up with. Organizing demonstrations against Zionist activity in the northern New Jersey suburbs where he lives, Rich’s activism hit a high note when a talk he gave in front of the Teaneck town council went viral. Recently Rich was fired from a teaching job at a local music school due to a pro-Palestine Facebook post. He is director of Deir Yassin Remembered, a pro-Palestine charity and activist organization. He is currently running for Congress in New Jersey, with the Ceasefire and Justice Party.

Nobody from the legal authorities were interested in a violation of international law. Can you even imagine if a Muslim congregation was selling someone else's land somewhere in the world. Some branch of US legal authority would be there within minutes to arrest them as terrorists. To be honest this is just another example of oppressed people who don't possess the same rights as other people. In essence this is a class struggle, and we have all been conditioned to just accept it as an inevitable consequence of being human. Well, that is all bullshit, and it is time we lift the vail and expose capitalism and it's horrible failure to recognize the rights of all humans. As long as we assume that it is somehow a right for a wealthy individual and a society to profit from another human beings right to exist, to be housed, to have access to health care, and access to education then we are all doomed to live miserable lives in a world where we can create enough peace and prosperity for everyone on this planet.

In Europe we have anti money laundering laws that prohibit banks from dealing with clients who engage in illegal activities. Promoting illegal sales is clearly illegal. So the US banks should normally blacklist all persons active in this filed in a way or another, announce their transactions to anti money laundering authorities, and block the accounts. This is the way we normally deal with clients using our banks for illegal activities. Why doesn’t the US apply money laundering regulations ?
