Black people have always watched primarily white shows because, most programming is geared to the majority. Every now and again, we got a Martin or a Living Single and we rejoiced to see ourselves on screen. We also grew up knowing "white" music too. White people know that they don't HAVE to indulge in our stories or, learn about our culture because, they also don't have to interact with us in real life. Generally speaking, Blacks have to interact with them and, learn how to navigate the landscape. We've always had to know about them but, they didn't HAVE to know about us.

I’d love a tool time/DIY show with Greg and Tank! Show us how to fix, build, or add small stuff in our apts/houses to help us save $. Or even have them compete on their DIY designs/fixes. And put it on the app and let us vote.

I was on Wild And Crazy Kids with Jonathan Taylor Thomas when he was doing the press tour for The Lion King, and I went to high school with Colt from Three Ninjas. I also used to work in the All Def building with Kev in DTLA. This episode spoke to me on a number of levels 🤣

So, basically, shows WE make have to be diverse in order to be successful; whereas shows made by the clear folks can be nothing but them, and still be wildly successful.

When I was growing up, we had so many Black shows that EVERYONE watched. Fresh Prince, Family Matters, The Cosby's, etc were huge at that time and no one just called it Black tv. I think some of the white tastemakers like to get amnesia every few years after Black shows outperform their expectations.

Seinfeld is a brilliant show! We are conditioned for shows to have a plot or episode situation. This show mirrored real life. Nothing over-the-top happens in our everyday lives on a daily basis. This is what Seinfeld is. If the scenarios on Seinfeld occur in our lives, we would laugh at ourselves. I became a fan of the show later in life because i was a child and teenager when it was on and I fell prey to the "ot must have a plot" or "it must be a situation" to be a good show.

The comment about the dudes lips happened when he wasn't working in the league. He was at ESPN at the time, so the NFL left it up to the Raiders owner to punish him. From my understanding, they expected a fine or suspension and were lowkey heated (because of optics) that he coached on Sunday or Monday. The other stuff happened within like a 7 year span, some of that time when he was in the league, so there was no coming back from that. But he has a history with the owner, so no way he was gonna flat out fire him. He was basically bought out more than likely but they're calling it resignation.
