Amateur adults are the worst games to officiate. Some are playing for fun, but quit when they need to play weekend warriors. Those 'some' have lives and family to go to after a game. I know many almost crippled from agressive play. Its amateur play. Anyway, tossing adult is habit forming. I prefer collegiate to adult. They are really athletes.

@@TewCerti I support clean play. The typical complaint of a legal charge resulting in a player going down. Just because you fell down doesnt mean the legal charge becomes illegal. Very true. I spent a night with refs watching soccer matches. By the end, none of us really knew who won. We were critiquing the game and talking about our own methods. Even watching, and rewinding plays, all of had different interpretations of fouls to call. The level of play, age, skill, and temperature of the game required adjusting officiating. What to learn from this video as a referee - urgency when there is an injury is extremely important to show players that you actually care. Most of the refs in this video just walk on over to the player after like 10 seconds, shows a lack of care for the safety of the players. The second point is that red cards are not scary, and often warranted. Courageous referees who give red cards when necessary command respect for the rest of the game as the players are aware of the consequences for their actions.

thumbs up! Just add a ref that is not afraid to give a yellow early in the match and set the tone if things are getting tense early on. Weak refs allow it to continue and it usually only gets worse. I felt with many of these in this video things were probably building up to these.

I’ve met a lot of opposition players that had dirty tackles on me and said “meet me after” yet I meet them and they do nothing. Don’t act tough if aren’t actually tough

0:53 red shirt grabbing jersey/shorts first black jersey retaliates w/same course of action. I call a free kick for black jersey… bring both players together for a calm warning that the next incident will produce a card(s) yellow or red depending on the severity.

I have a few friends that are American and they came over to Scotland to visit and they were watching me play with my team, and they were shocked by the standards between there and our football saying 9/10 tackles the ref in America would give the the players would roll about and cry or the coaches and that start bitching to be fair it is true as I once saw a guy being booked in America because he never shook the ref hand 😂

Obvious lesson here: if you are an adult with a career that isnt playing football, dont go for the 50/50. 95% of the time the other guy isnt coming out clean with the ball anyway. I have kids and a job, not getting my leg broken because i was afraid some overly competitive idiot was going to make a clean challenge and win the ball back.
