I love the scratchy approach. It reminds me that I haven’t truly suffered throughout my life at 55. I am currently fighting Leukemia, but I’m not suffering, I admit I have whined some. lol. Christ crucified exemplifies true suffering, and I thank God everyday for that because if Jesus didn’t pay the price, then it’s on us. Keep the scratchy coming!

We have not suffered to the point of bloodshed. Thank Him for that. I’m a street preacher who goes in downtown Houston. I got uncomfortable the first time I got screamed at to, uh, ‘shut my mouth,’ if you know what I mean. That’s the worst it’s ever got, even in the 4th largest city in America on Friday nights preaching to tipsy folks. We are a soft group of believers. If the righteous scarcely be saved, Lord help us.

There's a wicked preacher in my state, who loves to be intentionally provocative and annoying, and then recoil and act fake "macho" while saying he is persecuted. Whenever he receives push back, he stirs up hype about it being "persecution" and acts like it's a super special badge of honor and legitimacy. Thanks for this video, it's very comforting because you are the opposite of that wicked preacher, which lifts a sadness I didn't know I had.

Great message. Thank you. Who are we to say what "real persecution" is? Having gone through some tough times myself (howbeit, not unto shedding blood), it is difficult to say whether it is necessary for everyone to go through exactly what some (not all) of the people in the Bible went through. Suffering (too) is relative. And not everyone is built the same. Someone's faith simply wouldn't make it through getting beaten and being tortured; yet their life isn't somehow "valued less" than those who go through such experiences. (There are other kinds of suffering in the world as well (some of which is mental suffering; for example).) Remember these words from the Bible: "Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man." Luke 21:36, KJV Some WILL be able to escape ALL "these things" (read the chapter for more information) simply because they are accounted worthy to do so. And some will not. God makes that decision; not us. In this context, this verse is just as relevant: "For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it." Matthew 16:25, KJV Additionally: "But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart." 1 Samuel 16:7, KJV I wish you blessed rest of the day.

Hi friend! I admit I've been running into trouble before it was about escaping for my life after I said that I will follow Jesus Christ and that I am an Old Calendarist Orthodox to the wrong people. I know others who have been martyred for the same reason, including a close friend of mine. I've been hunted in my life, twice for two very different reasons, the first being that I was indifferent to the blessings I was given in my life before I was Christian, and the second time after I started to live a new life elsewhere that I was pursued because I decided to trust Jesus and not the man who destroyed my life who sought to tear me apart and away from Christ. I have suffered for Christ, but I don't know how much of it was me being a busy body towards the ones that sought to do me harm after the fact. I don't know if I'm being persecuted. Heck, if they get their hands on me, I may not only be suffering for Christ's sake but because of my own pride and stupidity. Even if it came to martyrdom, God knows I'm weak in the faith, but want nothing more than to cling to Lord Jesus Christ faithfully. I don't know what to call what I'm going through other than a catastrophe. I'm an unprofitable servant of Lord Jesus Christ. I really enjoy your videos. It would mean a lot to me if we ever get to speak with eachother. God bless you, and thank you for your wake-up calls. I for one need them.

I’ve been sitting in the middle of some personal stuff hemming and hawing over what to do about it. I had my rear-end firmly planted on my shoulders and praying to Jesus for some wisdom - James 1:5 came to mind and I asked. I tuned in to see if Dewayne ever checked in and there he is, reminding me to square up. Ask and ye shall receive. It’s all real simple, just not as easy as we’d like it to be.

You're making me think again, and I tend to over think things. Simply put, you are exactly right. I have never suffered like any martyr, but I've never been put in that kind of position either. I've never allowed myself to be in that kind of situation before. Should I? John 4:35 "Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest." Hey Dewayne, I haven't commented on any of your videos before, but I've watched many. I believe you are truly inspiring, but for the first time today I feel compelled to say something. I believe Jesus was a great man. I feel he would forgive even those of us who carry the weight of persecution or perceived despair. I have lived that life, it was a mistake, that's true. However, I do believe also that Jesus' perception of lordship and love over the human condition would also prove that he would forgive man or woman, no matter what condition.

The devil doesn't want to lose a sinner like I was, but he doesn't have any say so in the matter. Jesus is my Savior and I Truly Love Him.
