Cj is right. If the players get fined for criticizing the refs the refs should be fined for missing OBVIOUS CALLS. ESPECIALLY when they have the ability to review plays.

Imagine playing on back to back nights, you only have 7 players available, and you're competing hard against a tough team on the road. Your star players play the whole second half without rest. He should've dribbled the clock down to 1 and take a 35 foot step back 3 over Gobert from the logo, then wave bye bye to the Jazz. Even if the refs had called goaltending, the Jazz had 10 seconds and a timeout to draw up a play.

Gobert is DPOTY, but he and the jazz get away with goaltending a lot!! Its bs!! He had a great game winning block against the Mavs a couple weeks ago, but he had a blatant GT right before that, and they got away with another obvious one in the first half. This needs to be a reviewable play! They review if ppls foot is on the line 5 minutes after a 3 ptr happens and take points away from a team. Its ridiculous

because it is both against the rules for the media to approach the refs, and vice versa for the refs to respond if they are approached. Respectively one will get their credentials removed and the other would get them fired.

Nba cares more about their refs then their players lmao. Remember Isaiah Thomas touched a ref and the ref ejected him then the league fined him😂😂. This is why nba has the worst officiating in all sports right now. Refs has too much control over nba games they literally can change the out come of a game. Also remember Tim Duncan a hall of famer got ejected for laughing on the bench.

The world is all about give and take. One of the key principles of economics are trade offs. Each action you take will have an opposing reaction. If we penalize refs for making an honest mistake on the job we will get a response of refs being more strict with their whistles and we are already complaining about how often fouls are called but that would only get worse. Another possible outcome would be refs quitting due to toxic work conditions which would force the NBA to raise the pay (it’s hard to replace good refs just ask the NFL) as an incentive to stay. That money would come from players, fans, owners and coaches which would make the point of ref fines irrelevant. This concept is the same one that’s proposed for officers who make unwilling mistakes on the job which as we know from different cases and statutes isn’t upheld by law.

Portland had no timeouts to challenge the goaltend which clearly was a goaltend. So they was leaning on the official's to do the job of reviewing it but what did Portland expect they was playing the Jazz in Utah where the refs always turn a blind eye and give Utah the games because they are on the Jazz payroll
