VICIOUS CYCLE..they are punished for paying players and tax late, they get deducted points, they go lower, lose more money and still not able to pay their bills..sad for the fans😢

@@skar8173 You are very true in your response . What I should of said was Torquay is one of the latest that has been made public. As an Exeter fan of 45 yrs I've seen many clubs fold. Chester, Halifax, Hereford, Rushden & Diamonds, Maidstone, Bury .etc. The list is endless . Not Including non league teams that have a community. I apologise if i offended.

The issue with the EFL's personality test is their restrictions do have to be considerably less than the PL's version. The PL can choose to be strict because so many billionaires want to buy their clubs. The EFL doesn't have that same luxury. You had clubs like Bury who just wanted someone through the door but no one wanted to pay the outstanding debt. So I fail to see why this is all the EFL's fault. Some blame has to lie with the previous owners as well.

I’m not from there but I like football, I even watch various non league clubs. As for glory hunting I think you need to have a rethink as a common barb at Spurs is that we don’t win anything.

I agree once Chelsea and Man City and any others have been dealt with then change the rules where everyone starts from scratch. Lawsuits incoming to the PL from Everton and Forest in the future I guess coz Chelsea and City wont get touched u can bank on it.

@@leewilliams1987 the billion thing is misleading really. All those deals are being spread over super long contracts. You can bet they've spent barely a 5th of that total to date. Plus they've sold well recently. I think the charges against Chelsea are slightly different

Chinese businessmen should never be allowed by the EFL and Premier League to buy English football clubs. They don’t understand and don’t care about the community aspect of owning a football club. They treat it purely as any other business and think that because they are football fans that they know how to do every part of it, including being involved in buying and selling players. Now that it’s all going wrong Dai Yongge (it’s pronounced “yong-ger” by the way) it aggressively cutting costs, in the process reinforcing every stereotype about the worst type of football owner. The sooner he’s gone, the better.

Elm Park was a terrible stadium though. As I remember going there as a kid, in the winter you could have bitterly cold winds blowing through the upper sections of the uncovered terraces behind the goals. Madjeski did wonders for the club, building the current 25,000 stadium and making the team a regular in the Championship and even getting promoted to the Premier League a couple of times. What Dai is doing to the club is shocking.

How to expand the stadium without losing its soul - the atmosphere it is famous for. There’s a great Athletic article this week about it.

Like the rest of English football, too many clubs with ideas above their station thanks to Sky's money. Bournemouth, Brentford, Luton, Premier league clubs? Never in a million years. Tiny clubs with big budgets and small fanbases. It's all going to end in tears for many of these clubs as Reading are finding out. They will only be dropping back to the level they should never have left in the first place.
