You should never enter an interaction with non-Muslims with a feeling of need, vulnerability, or weakness; but only with confidence and authority; because inevitably, they will try to compromise your Deen or force you into the "extremist" corner. Hostility towards Islam and Muslims is part of the sickness of kufr, and they literally can't help it. So, just know this going in.

The Quran verses this gentleman is speaking about the momins who were preaching Islam, not average people. Anyway, this is a longer topic with many layers. But #1 advice, don't hang around in world with "you vs. me" mentality. Think of human connection at all times.

He is so right especially when you practice your religion beyond your home. They'll say they are openminded and accepting. But you wearing a beard because you are Muslim not because it is fashionable, you making wudhu and praying your salah, your halal diet, your Islamic dress, your moral values, your non-compromising attitude when it comes to your Islamic practices, it grates on them. They will gossip behind your back, criticise you and eventually it will spill over and they will let you know that they can't wear the mask of acceptance anymore. It is too difficult and uncomfortable and offensive to them. Eventually when you stay true to your beliefs they will brand you as intolerant, extremist and radical. They always try to get you to water down your religion and change it to suit them.

@@silverkitty2503 Understanding comes from knowledge- your atheist New Yorker. No one today can say they haven't heard about Muslims and Islam. The media is rife with anti-Islamic propoganda. Only those that really don't pay attention and live in their own bubbles, can say that. They don't have to accept Islam or hang out with Muslims. At the same time, in a nonMuslim country Muslims tolerate those that practice what goes against Islam, as long as it is not imposed on them. As a Muslim we cannot support what Allah (God) forbids. But since it is not a Muslim country, Muslims have to be tolerant. They have to obey the laws of the country. If anything goes against their religious beliefs, they have a choice to move to another country. Muslim countries today, make a lot of allowance for nonMuslims, even allowing them to practice things that go against Islamic laws. Allah has created everyone as He has, but He has also stipulated rules around deviant behaviour. One has to analyze whether this deviant behaviour is inborn or not. Many, after attending therapy, have realised that it was a word said, an event or traumatic experience, a desire, that led them on this path. It is not inborn. Many explain it as inborn to get their way. It was not the way they were born. I suggest you do study Islam before you undertake writing something inflammatory, if you haven't studied Islam yet. You wouldn't want to offend others or put yourself in an awkward or difficult position because of lack of knowledge on the subject matter. Giving your writing to a scholar before publishing is a good idea. Just make sure the scholar is not deviant. If writing against Islam in a Muslim society or insulting Allah and the Prophet Muhammad PBUH, such things won't be tolerated since it is blasphemy. Anyone living in the Muslim country should know what is blasphemy in that country n its punishment. These things also won't be tolerated if it is done outside the Muslim country but Islamic laws and punishment can't always be acted out in a nonMuslim country, unless that country has the same laws. So the main question to you would be what is your aim and objective to write something inflammatory? How will it benefit you and others? Will good come out of it?

Muslims are not Catholics. Remember that! Our religious community leaders must be drawn from the communities in which we live. The idea of a 'supreme' leader goes against the teachings of Islam. Think about it. Do we choose a person to represent us from Arabia, Europe, Asia, Russia, Indonesia? Under the Caliphate system yes the Sultan was supreme but the Sultan did not 'legislate' on behalf of the rest of the people within the empire.

But for some reason, every time we watched a movie or play a video game I noticed a strong biases towards the feminist agenda and the rainbow flag. I had to bring up that we don't agree with that idea and therefore I don't like to watch those movies. It's as if they have lost the only way of communication they had with me, and when I highlighted that movies are a way to portray wrong ideas to others, it's as if the jig was up and they have no way of convincing me to become liberal anymore. In the end I had to end the relationship because of how awkward it became and I was blamed for being aggressive for some reason. Allah said in the Quran "Neither the Jews or the Christians will be content with you unless you follow their religion." (in the meaning of the ayah). Also Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) Said: "I disown anyone who live among the disbelievers". And one poet once said, "A man is known by the company he keeps."

Just recite the Kalimah, and take it day after day, learn, you will not change in a day, it will take time, even the people at the time of the prophet PBUH , were taught Islam over a whole period till the Quran was complete , that was 23 years. Now since the Quran is complete and there is a lot to learn , it will take say not 23 years, bit still some time.

This hits the absolute nail on the head as a Muslim who’s grown up in the West. We love them but they do not love us. And more recently, it seems that Muslims (in the online world) including myself have been realizing that all of these conservative figure heads are *no different.* They seem positive and happy when we agree with their talking points on feminism, LGBT, and nuclear families but, at the end of the day, their honest view of Muslims is that we’ve gone too far in our conservatism and that Islam is an oppressive force in the world. I noticed that they have this burning envy of the Muslim community as a whole. We are what they wished they were and a lot of times, they try to spin off our strength and resilience as a bad thing.

Very well said. Conservatives propped up the liberals to show us how much better, more tolerant and loving they were compared to us. And then those same leftists buried them in the ground. Western Liberalism is a creation of Western Conservatism. Two sides of the same coin. A liberal of ten years ago is a conservative of today. And now they look at Islam and have to grudgingly accept how wrong they were and how right we were.

Here in the UK the Pakistani community are a poor representation of Muslims with grooming gangs etc. So to say that native westerners envy you ! Trust me pal as a native I don't envy you or your community. You and your kind would have us believe that your Gods chosen people just like the Jews claim to be. Your not. Mr. Bolsen aside from his belief system is rarely wrong on his interpretation of the west and its policies down the ages. I have always been on the side of the people of the third world.

I remember one of my good highschool friends that I’d known for about 2 years at the time, randomly texted me about the technicality about actions and intentions in Islam. I told him that actions are according to their intentions according to a Hadith, and then he was like: So what if a suicide 💣 er had the intention of serving Allah and the Messenger? I was quite surprised. And he was like: My bad bro, I was just trying to understand how it works from an Islamic perspective. He’s a Christian. And then a few months later he asked me which part of Islam it was that the radicals were misusing or abusing. It’s very strange.

It is against our human NATURE to reject the message of Islam. I have come to call the religion of Islam : « no more bullshit « …sorry for the inelegant phrase but I believe everyone « knows » this is IT and as long as they are rejecting it , they need to attack from time to time just to give themselves a good feeling …

You make it sound like Islam is only Islam is feeling blunt of this. Christians go through the same thing and Jews to a certain degree. But in the West Jews customs are more accepted in public than Muslims probably due to them being in the west far longer than Muslims.
