My dad worked the door with him and described him as his best friend in a lot of ways my dad said he was a true gentleman with ladies about if him and my dad were in a pub together and my mum joined them he’d make my dad give up his chair for my mum 😂

yep the scary man was, in fact, a real gangster. The Guvnar. Hardest man in the UK so they say. His book is something else. The story about the New York mafia flying him over to fight their hardest man is a story in itself. Watching him in this movie knowing who he is changes the film for me.

And it's got just the best episode on gender I have ever seen! The (all male) crew of Red Dwarf slip into a parallel universe where gender roles are reversed... S02E06.

“Love,Honor and obey”,is my favorite 90’s British gangster movie and is a right laugh as well..Ray Winstone stars in it..But in 2000 Ray starred in “Sexy Beast”,with Sir Ben Kingsley..Sir Ben,does such a great acting job playing a nasty gangster they even feature it and him in “The Sopranos”….Ta-Ta..🇬🇧🇺🇸👍

Great reaction! Some answers and info for ya! Brit here. Our money changes regularly. New designs all the time. Different people on notes and so forth. No biggie. Men, women, kings, queens. The current Monarch is on everything but when I was a nipper (1980s), it wasn't unusual to get coins with past monarchs. I _love_ the filters in this movie. So grim... But the location of the lads' flat was shot just near Borough Market. They had to SEARCH for those run-down buildings and that's why you only get tight shots. The rest of the street was gentrified lol! I lived there at the time and me and my mates squealed like stuck pigs when we saw that particular corner :D Harry's "enforcer" (who ducks the guy into the barrel of water) was a REAL LIFE enforcer. He plays himself. "If you don't want to be counting the fingers yoo aven't got..." I'm torn between "awful acting" and the fact that he actually did this: yet an actor could have done it way better. But Guy Richie loves his South East London Legends. Kudos on the editing btw! You hit the highlights. If you've seen the movie, you'll follow the reactions! And, actually, watching these highlights, I realise that this movie is a masterclass in "how incomplete communication between your immediate peers is a bad thing" in writing comedy (which I do as a hobby). Fun fact: "Chris" (the guy who has a son and whose name you couldn't remember) is played by former professional soccer player Vinnie Jones. He plays the same character in the movie as he did on the pitch, for Wimbledon FC, in South East London. Guy Richie LOVES his South East London Legends... This is literally Vinnie: the other player was the most talented of his generation and Vinnie had been given the job of making sure he couldn't score. Im from Australia and i was just casually cleaning all the receipts and random stuff that accumulated in my wallet over the past year. Pulled out a one dollar coin that was extra shiny so i flipped it to see what year it was minted and was honestly shocked to see a king on it. I audibly said wtf! My housemate heard me and was like what? I proceeded to show him the coin and he called out to the other bro to come have a ghanda. Since we are all 90s kids it was a shock to not see the queen on the back of our coins. If that's not a sign of changing times than i don't know what is.

This film was made before Snatch and was the reason Snatch was made because of it's success. I personally think this the better film of the two films. If you're not from London it you can miss a lot of the little slang terms but still a brilliant film. The sound track is excellent too.

Guy Richie is a good director. But I think largely the success of Lock Stock and Snatch were to do with the producer of the films, Matthew Vaughan. After these two films, they started separate careers. Guy Richie did a few on his own that tanked at the box office(Revolver, Swept Away, Rock and Roller), then started to do off the shelf projects, scripts written by other writers, and he just directed them( Sherlock Holmes, King Arthur) Where Vaughan took new original ideas and scripts he was involved in(Kick Ass, Stardust). His first standalone film was Layer Cake. It's a film I really recommend. It stars Daniel Craig, who wasn't largely known at the time. I think that film had a big impact on Daniel Craig getting the James Bond role. When the reboot for Bond was in the works, the rumour was the role was going to either Clive Owen or Daniel Craig, a lot of people were saying Clive Owen, but I think they hadn't seen Daniel Craig in Layer Cake. I would tell people to watch Layer Cake, Daniel Craig is going to be the next James Bond base on his Layer Cake performance.

Madonna movie aside, Guy Ritchie is a fantastic filmmaker who weaves a lot of comedy into the darker elements of his movies. Really enjoy his work. Other Guy Ritchie movies to see - More crime comedies - RocknRolla (with Gerard Butler), The Gentleman (with Matthew McConaughey), and Revolver (very experimental, with Statham) Spy comedies - The Man From UNCLE (with Henry Cavill), Operation Fortune (more Statham, Aubrey Plaza, Josh Hartnett), and the upcoming Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare (also with Cavill) You may also enjoy the work of his friend and contemporary, Matt Vaughn - The Kingsmen movies, Layer Cake (with Daniel Craig, this one is very Guy Ritchie style), and more.

So I just stumbled across this. I hate reaction videos and usually don't have the patience to sit through even the intro let alone much else but I love Guy Ritchie films and I was surprised to find myself watching this till the end. Forgot how great a film it is but love your style of video. Great editing, loved the short and simple intro and watching your reaction. Guess I'm gonna have to see what else you've got now

Don't forget Brag (& Poker) are vying games so you can win even if you hand isn't the best as long as you can bluff you opponent into believing it is. Eddie loses not because he made a bad bet but because Hatchet Harry was cheating and knew for certain Eddie was bluffing.

Oh, in answer to your question, I heard on the radio they're minting new coins but I haven't seen em in person yet. Quite rare I use/have cash and coins tbh but will keep my eyes peeled. Also in the news recently is they are legalising cannabis and it will be legal to possess and smoke it in public (for the very first time) as long as you're over 18. Think they said the law is coming in next year.

A notorious point in his football career was when he grabbed Paul Gascoigne’s balls during a game, crushing them in his hand. There is a famous picture you can google.😅

The game they're playing is called 3 card brag, highest hand is 3 3's, followed by 3 aces then descending through the pack, then a royal flush (A run all of the same suit), flush (A run of mismatched suit), a flush (any 3 cards of the same suit), a pair (same rules as for 3 of a kind) and lastly a high card.

I love this movie but you notice a fatal flaw in the plot. The film opens by pointing out that Eddie’s skill is reading people, not cards. You can’t cheat with a person like that, he’d have picked up on Harry’s confidence immediately. It makes no sense for Eddie to make that final bet, but hey sometimes the story requires the characters be stupid. Still love the film.

If you're ever in London, take a trip to Borough Market. It's a distinctive open market underneath a railway viaduct right next to the Thames. But it's also where the street is that you can see at 2:40. Follow the one-way system round the back of the market and it heads down that road. You can see that exact shot for yourself.

The reason Eddy bet on the 6s is because he judged Harry's reaction to his cards and knew he had very little also. In normal circumstances he could have bullied him to fold. The only reason Harry didnt fold on two 7s is because his guy told him exactly what Eddy had.

The characters in this movie are not the same as Snatch, for example Jason Statham is called Bacon in this movie, but he's called Turkish in Snatch. 😉 Two different characters.
