Super interesting. Every time I used to feel a stiff neck I tried neck exercises and most of the time they made things even worse... Shoulder exercises for neck pain? OK let me try!

I like this one. Surprised that a plug for Standing Up To A Sitting World is not mentioned here.

Man you need to invest a bit in advertising. Your videos are plenty of knowledge. This should have at least 100 thousands views.

Just to be clear, were those serratus (antagonists to the chest and shoulders) band exercises? I think the Eastern philosophy (yoga and martial arts) is to "raise the head" (or upper back and cervical spine) while relaxing the shoulders and chest. That would imply that we are over internally rotating the shoulder joints and in need of exercises (that you are showing) to strengthen the antagonists that abduct and promote raising the head and upper back to assist with load. Maybe I'm misunderstanding.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding your misunderstanding, but it didn't seem to me that they were serratus exercises. For example the band pull aparts retract the shoulder blades which I'd imagine would stretch the serratus.

@@HolyCodzta Thank you for the reply. I needed to go back and brush up on which muscle groups were associated with the exact band exercise with hand position I had in mind. I see that the serratus anterior functions when elevating the arm. That's not the movement pattern this video is showing or what I had in mind. The following video shows the details to the band exercise I had in mind, but leaves out the "weak" muscles coming into play. I've seen traps and rhomboids mentioned elsewhere, but they are not usually considered weak. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gLWSjNeGnL-bkZs.html Maybe you can help clarify which muscles are weak throughout this seemingly simple movement pattern. Thanks again for taking the time to reply.

@@alexmuniz7249 Yeah you're welcome. To be honest I'm not educated on the topic, I actually just looked up a diagram and read a couple articles on what the muscle does and it seems to me the function of the serratus anterior is pretty much the opposite of the horizontal band pull apart; to pull the shoulder blades around to the front of the body like in the concentric portion of a push up. As for which muscles would be the weak ones in that particular movement pattern? I don't know. The only one I'd say is the one Jeff mentioned, the lower traps. I have no idea if the lower traps specifically are commonly overlooked and weaker though, that would take a little more research to find out.
