So the conveyor belt is stuck to the bottom of the tube for whatever reason, and it's actually the first time it's ever happened. So without recking the rubber drive rollor at the top, let's get to work here.

Mike, have you considered contacting May Wes to see if they have, or can fab a poly liner for the tube to go in between the belt and tube? That poly liner seems to be the magic material when it comes to augers on the combines, maybe that would stop the rust adhesion of the belt to the steel conveyor.

Something to try losing belt up completely when done with . Then in the spring tighten up tight . Should give enough movement to stuff free. When you go from sloppy loose to tight Should release the belt.

There's not much to put on that belt or it may slip on startup. You need chain lube before parking those machines.

Null modem. They are used to terminate a bus. Kind of like a cap on the end of a manifold to make sure the water or fuel or whatever fluid doesn’t leak all out the end instead of going where it is supposed to. Not a perfect analogy, but kinda close.

If possible turn the belt couple times a yr while it is parked May take a little time but possibly save some aggravation.

Now only if they made conveyors that had steel that was stainless lol. Get a hold of Agri stainless. Not sure why that’s not an option on the air drills now days

Mike, maybe if you put some lubricants on it after you finish seeding it would prevent some of the moisture on the belt and be evaporated by the time you need it in the spring? Just a suggestion.

Maybe running more water down the tube... loosen up the guck holding the belt? Or a long rebar with a small 'L' on the end...worked under the belt further up??
@mikemitchell2554Ай бұрын
As long as you kept the water away from the main roller, maybe but I think getting the belt wet would only make things worse.
@jiggyquinn5635Ай бұрын
It appears that the rust bonds to both materials, getting it dry and keeping it dry seems to me the prevention. Good luck on a bountiful harvest.

How would it work to dump some water with dawn dish soap and run the conveyor then run some RV anti freeze through it. Just asking
@KraigthecanadianАй бұрын
A trick that might work is feed a rope behind the head pulley and fish it down the auger tube tie one side of the tail pulley and winch on or pull other side should go between the belt and bottom of tube pulling it up off the bottom

I feel like washing them does more harm then good. Get 10 years off the bearings on meter augers doing roughly 6000 acres per dril a year grease them daily. Never had half these problems

It's got a belt in it? I thought those things were a screw auger. Shows what I know... 😊
@theloniousm4337Ай бұрын
Some do have a screw auger in them. The big plus with the conveyor is the complete product cleanout when switching products. Auger you had to run in reverse then dump the hopper in a pail and cart it up the ladder. Conveyor is self cleaning so just clean the tube and switch between seed and fert in seconds.
@kentmathieson1342Ай бұрын
@@theloniousm4337 Also the belt causes less seed damage in fragile pulse crops.
