I always enjoyed your videos. Nicely low key approach. I think it is easy for people who have not made KZfaq videos (including myself) to under estimate the time and effort involved. Thank you, and all the best for the future.

No worries. I can't do composites now because I am renovating, but I watch with you with envy. It is just unlucky that you did not have l one video go viral, millions of views viral, because you deserve it.

You are so genuine. It is not easy to face these decisions and choices to oneself, let alone others. Well done in facing up to your current situation and taking action. Catch your breath, refuel your tanks and I look forward to seeing you again when you're re-charged!

Good for you. Family first is my focus as well. That high you got from the first video, was great and gave you the thrust to explore more. When you have a young family, it's incredibly tough to attend to every single responsibility and match our own personal goals. Conflicts of interest take place and you have to choose. You've got to know how to delegate your time and what the rewards are going to be (BTW, that statement is not meant to lecture you!). If you were to spend all your time working on a project that were to be successful but your family were neglected, would you still be happy? or would that be a failure? I haven't had everything in life, but I have a happy family, and that more than makes up. Good luck, and I'll still be watching.

Hey, I just got here. I hope you are doing well and can find your optimal path forward. You asked what we want to see? I'm trying to produce small carbon fiber sailboat hulls. Your build a part video is informative and from what I have learned elsewhere the cf vs fiberglass molds don't seem too dissimilar. Please keep pumping this info out. It's super useful and helps me muddle along. Subscribed.

I think you're going to like my next set of content. I'm going to try adapting the stitch and glue method for making a carbon fiber kayak hull. You should see the first video up soon :)

Hey man, found your channel looking into how hard carbon fiber parts are to make. You're a truly genuine guy. You really need to look into Udemy. I'm currently learning python on it, and paid 15$ for it. The course says it has ~1.8M people enrolled on a counter in the site. You're a very, very talented teacher. I've always said anyone who can explain their field to a complete beginner in terms that they understand has mastered their craft. That aircraft you worked on is fucking sick too. Talk about credibility on your channel. You should be throwing some of those accolades around more. I'll be subbing, hopefully you pull through with depression cause it sucks, and I look forward to a Udemy course 🤜🤛

Check into offering your training on LinkedIn Learning, Udemy and/or Coursera. These platforms are being consumed by corporations globally and your content would be refreshing for corporate employees and still get credit for ‘constant learning’ even if they never plan to build composite parts. I have no idea about their business models or how instructors get paid but worth looking into. Good luck and thanks for all your contributions to date!

I want to take your course. Please let us know how we can purchase it. I love making stuff for my own use, but being able to sell small batches to recoup some money from my composites hobby would be fantastic.

Focus on the fabrication portion of the course... Edit it into 10-15 minute vids... Pick and choose portions for you tube and separate some out for your patreon supporters.

Yeah unfortunately these kinds of channels are really hard to make and they are not popular. It's a small specialty market / technology. Or if you're a composite shop I guess. You can't really make money with it I think, except with patreon maybe if you're lucky. It's way easier to make money using stupid lifestyle or memes or pushing emotion and bullshit. I wish there were grants or something to do educational content on youtube. A kind of crowdfunding that people vote on but the money comes from education grants. Any way, thank you very much for sharing your videos!

Right now I don't have a way, but I'm looking into possible ways to have it hosted without it costing me money if I don't make sales. Something like Skillshare that allows me to put my video up for free, and I make a smaller commission from their membership fees. If you've got ideas for how best to do it, I'd love to hear it.

Here's the course: sasquatch-composites.teachable.com/p/make-your-first-in-composites . I think there are only four openings left before I hit my max number of students on Teachable's free plan, so it's first come first served. Just be aware that I'm not maintaining the Facebook Group anymore (since nobody was in there), but my contact info is in the course if you ever need to reach out with questions or anything.

You should look in to who Shane Sams is and his Flipped Lifestyle website. He specializes in helping people take an idea just like this and turning it into a retirement essentially. Join his Flipped Lifestyle Facebook group and get as much of the free content he and his members offer. As a fledgling KZfaqr I totally understand where you're coming from. Keep at it and prayers to you and your family for your next steps! God Bless!
